...It's a Bloody Big Deal!

Not many England internationals in the MLS though, it is quite a big deal for them. Not on Beckham level but it's still big.

Was that JD in the phone box?

more troubling to see that levy seem to have handled the negotiations all by himself? what does baldini do?

I think that selling and buying players are two very different things, courting a player to make him come here and driving a hard bargain to get the best price requires two different skill sets, I think it's obvious which belongs to Levy and Baldini respectively.

Wouldn't be surprised if we got £15m + for Defoe which is a tidy piece of business. For all concerned as he could be a Star for them. Hope he sets the league alight.

Surprised this has not been mentioned

Great sendoff for Defoe yesterday after the match

Wasn't aware it was his last home game, it's a shame that Ade messed up that through ball towards the end of the game, would have been a nice way to go out on.

Good player, quite possibly the most underrated player in my time supporting Tottenham, classic case of you don't know what you got until it's gone. Fans will notice his absence in the coming seasons when we won't have someone coming off the bench that will be reliably as prolific as he has been this past decade, and in the process generally content in doing so.

I think Defoe's last home game is against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on 27th February.

I'm gonna miss him. Whatever you think of him as a player, its hard not to be a little sentimental about JD. 5th top goalscorer. Now that's a bloody big deal to me.

Hope he gets a really good send off against Dnipro

i would have thought that he'd have been dropped from the Euro squad due to his impending departure?

if yesterday was his last home game i think the club could have done more to promote the fact - a good amount of people hung around but i would imagine a lot of those that left had no idea it was his last game.

I think overall he has done well. Yes he can be frustrating but he is definitely a great impact player at this stage in his career. I would play him in a two with Ade against Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Norwich as I think he will stretch both of those teams defences quite well and give him a chance of scoring another couple over the two legs against Dnipro.
