Next seasons squad

Proof it's not just how much, but how you spend

This has always been my argument. We spend poorly, spending more has never been the pure solution. Spending better has been. Sometimes buying the cheaper option costs you more in the long term because you have to return to the market in the short term to try and improve upon them.

We don't own Muani, so selling him is somewhat challenging.

I would say the player who has always failed to impress me is Dragusin, he's not at the pace of our league and will recoup £25-30m in Italy or Spain.

Selling Solanke is a crazy idea because if fit he's the best we have by a mile. By all means have a succession plan, but we can't sell him, we need depth up top, not to strip out the numbers.

Romero has to stay too, for all the furore that surrounds him and his off field decisions at times, the guy is a world class footballer, our only one, and no coach is going to want to lose that.

Udogie hasn't been fit this season, and every time we have him back we have had to rush him back into the side. Buy another lb and give him a proper pre season and he will be far better.

Tel is one of the best prospects in Europe, if you can't see that I won't try to explain it. Think Bale when he was breaking through - raw but the talent is there to see.

I'd say the issue I have with your approach is that you're chucking out the squad, while actually we need to add players above them.

This summer has an absolute wealth of free transfer players so don't be surprised to see us pick up someone like Dusan Vlahovic to compliment the forward line.

Selling Richarlison and Solanke in the same window is risky but they both need to go as neither are reliable from a fitness standpoint and neither have the required quality we need.

We’ll have to agree to disagree about Romero, he’s been a part of a defence that has conceded circa 60 goals for four seasons in a row. Not to mention his poor disciplinary record and insistence on prioritising Argentina over Spurs.

We’ll also have to disagree on Tel. If he’s one of the best prospects in Europe then I fear for European football. If any of the current crop of forwards are starting for us next season then we’re going to be in trouble again.

My list of players to sell is partly wishful thinking but it doesn’t change the fact that we’re going to need the biggest clear-out we’ve likely seen at Spurs in the PL era.

I’m not sure that’s true.

For example, I think we scored 21 goals in our last 21 PL games under him. Hardly in scoring for fun territory.

Angeball was - and continues to be - a myth.

To his credit, his ability to sell it as fact to so many people is a serious achievement.
Its the ability of the new world to give things pet names which they like, rather than seeing the reality...............See "The don" for how much that name covered his sins at his job and legal

Seems like it will be a busy summer. Quite a bit of outgoing business to get done most likely in addition to outgoings. Some big decisions for De Zerbi to make as well as the potential for some players to want out.

We need to take steps towards making our central midfield options more balanced imo and add more creativity, ball playing ability and overall quality to our middle and front third play. Need a new left back option too I think, not convinced Robertson is good enough still, but perhaps a decent cheaper option while we can loan out Souza.

Seems like VdV may stick around, I'm guessing Romero will be leaving. With no Europe and good available options in Danso and possibly Senesi I think it's a good season to bed in Vuskovic for us.

Assuming Vicario leaves another big decision on either making Kinsky first choice or signing a new starting goalie.

Will be super interesting to see what De Zerbi makes of this squad and his options. He'll have a lot of power now. He's shown what he can do with some of the players here with only a little bit of time. I wonder if he'll see some solutions as good enough that may not currently be considered such by the majority of the fanbase for various reasons.

Who do people think we will get to replace Vicario? And will it be someone who should start ahead of Kinksky or a relative 'vet' and make Kinksky our number 1?

Also, with no European games do we need to arrange more loans for the likes of Lankshear and Moore or do we think De Zerbi will want some of them here?
