Nabil Bentaleb

Doesn't get the praise he deserves due to not being English. Could become better than Modric, just need to find a new Bale and VDV now.

Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is poised to sign a new long-term deal at White Hart Lane, sources have told ESPN FC.

Spurs are keen to reward Bentaleb, 20, for his progress over the last 18 months with a new improved contract, with the Algeria international one of the lowest earners at the club.

Bentaleb broke into the Tottenham first-team last season under Tim Sherwood, making 20 appearances before going on to play for Algeria at last summer's World Cup finals.

The all-action midfielder has built on his successful breakthrough season, establishing himself as a regular in new coach Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Bentaleb, who came through Tottenham's youth ranks, still has three years to run on his current deal, but Spurs are keen to tie him down for a longer period.

Harry Kane and Ryan Mason have both recently signed new long-term contracts, and Bentaleb is set to follow his teammates in pledging his future to the club with the trio seen as key components of Tottenham's future.
 
Yeah, Bentaleb has grown this season, bit especially since coming back from African Nations, the past few weeks in particular he's been incredible.

Funny you should say that; I was watching a recent stream and thought it was Dembele purely from his movement (as you mention).

Good. Well deserved.
 
He's completely different to Modric. He may become important to us as Modric was but he's a long way off controlling a game like Modric. Still very young however.
 
After the Mason incident love it he was first on the scene, and when the game restarted he gave a revenge tackle to say u don't start on my mate . COYMFS

He could become a really top player, but better than Modric?? Modric is genuine world class, to be better than him he would really have to go some and it certainly wouldn't be at Spurs....

It took Modric a while before he became our most important player and he was how old? Bentaleb is just 20 years old and already ooze's class. Modric did not become truly world class until his second season at Madrid.
