Mauricio Pochettino

I am in no doubt Poch will be our manager the first game of next season if we are still in the Premiership.

The recent video, the signing of Gallagher; I don’t believe in coincidences.

What players would Poch love in this current squad? I think Porro, Romero, VDV, Danso, Vuskovic, Gray, Bergvall, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus, Xavi, Tel, Solanke.

They are all young, high-energy, reasonably technical, mentally pliable. I can't see any that wouldn't obviously work. The only two with application question marks (Biss and Munai) will both be gone before he arrives.

I just dont see how its doable though. Let's say the US only get to the 2nd round (There's no way they go out in the groups with this new format, Even if they are the US), The 2nd round is the first week of July. If they fluke it into later rounds it get even worse. We could end up with Frank sacked and being managerless for more than 2 months, along with the media meltdown that brings!!... and you know they will be spinning it as though he's our 7th choice if it took that long.

If we could appoint him ahead of time then Trump and the whole of the US would say his hearts not in it and he'd probably get forced out early.. like Lopetegui did that one time.

The timing sucks whichever way you look at it. He should have course resign but he hasnt done it already so it doesn't look on the cards.

USA aren't beating Australia or Paraguay. Have you seen them play over the last few years. They are well behind Canada and Panama (as well as Mexico) in CONCACAF now

They only really need to win 1 match to finish 3rd and scrape through in this tournament. It's a bit of a joke how these groups stages will only kick out the really dogs**t sides, but fans wanted to keep it to groups of 4 so now most of the 3rd place sides will qualify.

I do think it would be good if they could pre-announce Poch early though. At least then we can crack on with some summer transfer ins and outs without leaving to after pre-season

The possibility of him coming back to Spurs means the USA will be getting to the quarters minimum, any other club and they'd finish 4th in the group stage.

If this does happen then the meltdown when nothing changes and we finish mid to lower table again will be biblical
If it does go back to Poch, the hierarchy should have some self awareness to see they sabotaged the ending of his reign.

I maintain the biggest sliding doors moment in the clubs history was the double window without spending anything. Improve on that squad and "who knows" becomes "what ifs"
