Massive decision. Redundancy. Pay off

Yup. Great advice and exactly what the other half and I did. Started a world tour on a whim in a similar situation. Was only meant to be gone six months and ended up spending three spectacular years in NZ and OZ at the end of it.

You may find that living abroad isn't for you but the amazing moments you will experience will bring you lifelong memories, clarity of thought and perspective.

I'm excited for you mate, do whatever your gut tells you, it will be the right decision. Whether that's travel, new work opportunities, learning an instrument etc be happy and be lucky!

cheers fella, Im hitting the gym more now and thinking of new things to do. Might learn the piano, get on my road bike and get fitter. Im not seeing this as a negative, it could be a blessing in disguise. The people I worked with were idiots, and they have paid me generously to leave them when I was actually seeking employment elsewhere. Just the kick I needed!

Alright guys, thanks for all the replies! Didn't think I would get many! Sorry been busy last few days and was so smashed when I sent that I forgot I did it!

Been sending my CV off to more recruitment agencies this morning and mates in the industries to see if there are any jobs around.

However, I think I will go to OZ and NZ for a month as thats what I planned to do anyway but didn't have the money. You never know I could find a job out there but I have not had a holiday in 2 years.

Have always wanted to do something else but with the money I was on, wasn't amazing but was very good it would be so hard to start up and find something new to do. That aside, the debt was worrying me however this would be completely cleared and would leave me enough to put away and also go travelling for a bit. That said if I came back I would have to find a job pretty soonish. However another option is to rent the flat out and live at home for a few months.

I also like the look of NY but definitely need a holiday even if it is somewhere cheap and nasty like Tenerife or the Greek islands.

GGG

Sounds like a good plan mate. Do you still have the itinerary I posted for you with regards to things you can do in Oz and NZ? If not, I'll send it through again. Enjoy!

 caught red-handed

Yep still got that one I think! I will search for it on here! Will re-read through it today.

When you've reached the point where you're doing it so much you've had to shorten the word, it's time to get professional help Hudd.

Will you all please stop taking this thread off-topic.

We've got a party to plan here.

I just wanted to make sure that one of the hookers GGG hires (i.e. the professional help I mentioned) would be up for servicing Hudd's particular fetish.

I dunno you try and think about others and this is what you get.

Drop the idiotic advices. Save your cash, buy your house in a quiet place, find a squaw and settle down, eat berries and shag ass, you're a turd a does not deserve even half this.

Good attitude matey !!!!

I'd pay off your debt, if you are living rent free in a bought flat you should really be able to travel whilst working. IMO ridiculous to take 2 years off travelling even 6 months, maybe 4 weeks max. That debt will still be there when you get back.. And you could lose the flat if you don't pay it should you struggle to find a job.
