Interim manager thread 2.0

Basically, there's three options left at this stage:

1- Consider the players are getting a grip of Tudor's tactics (despite the atrocious result, last night's performance was a slight improvement)
2- Get someone who will try to talk the players out of this mess by building up their confidence
3- Appoint someone permanently and have him tell players like VDV and Romero that, if we go down, we won't sell them

3 will never happen because that's something you absolutely can't do in football. No matter how tempting that sounds, it's taboo because word travels fast in football and that's a guarantee nobody with half a brain will ever sign for you in the future. I think the boat has sailed on 1, so that leaves us with...

No thanks. This is a bit different to other caretaker situations he has had us in, and he took West Brom to 18th in the league. It requires more than being a Spurs fan to turn this brick show around....
Mason did a reasonable job with us twice previously. But it was just that, reasonable. He doesn’t strike me as having the presence or experience yet to deal with the brickstorm we’re in the middle of.

The bizarre thing (and a bricker for us) is there is literally no standout candidate to come in a put this fire out.

If you were to rate candidates out of 10....none of them are more than a 3...4 at a push.

Bleak
I would rate our best chance as Sherwood with Redknapp there as some sort of advisor because it's just not feasible for him to manage in the dugout. Would be as good a chance as anything I've seen suggested IMO.

Not going to happen of course, but would my pick.....

Shaking my head reading comments about getting Ange back.

The same Ange that lost 22 times in the league last season and has no wins in his last 13 Premier league games? Yeah that'll work.

I hear you, and I think Ange would never take an interim job, except maybe just to help out the players he probably still cares a lot for.

But I think there is something in the idea that on an interim basis, as a pure motivator, he - or someone like him - might be what he squad needs right now. He wouldn’t implement pure Ange ball. Probably just set us up in enough of an attacking way, with enough of a motivational angle, to get 3 wins.

It will never happen anyway but in a sea of bleak options I see the logic of it.

It does.
Should've been someone with a club connection like Redknapp.
Getting on in years but knows his football, would use the youth if need be and would put a smile back on the players and fans faces.
Would keep it simple, play players in their favoured position as they've shown little adaptability(bar Gray).
Tudor was the wrong interim, not all his fault by any means as there are a lot of players not putting in a shift.
When Redknapp came in the first time he had no connection to the club, when Poch took over he also had no connection to the club. These are irrelevant emotional wants. We don't need someone with a connection we need someone who is capable of getting points out of these malcontents. It's that simple, it can be someone in the club it could be someone from Timbuktu but where they are from or the connection they have to the club is completely irrelevant and unimportant.
