Have We Got The Worst Atmosphere In The Country

We’ve an awfully negative fan base imo. sexy and Dr Tottenham were created by Spurs fans as a coping mechanism but all it does for me is highlight how insecure you are. Every team has those moments. But when you label them, you start to expect them and then almost celebrate them when they inevitably happen. Woe is me nonsense.
In general I don't believe our fan base is much different to other clubs. We are charged a fortune to watch the games, asked to turn up on different days and different times, then more often than not dished up rubbish football. I am a believer the supporters should lift the team, like the Palace supporters do, but it would appear I am in the minority

There is a lack of humour these days.
I remember some of the fun songs sung in the past, such as the Nicola Berti song, which remains one of my favorites.
The last one I remember loving was 'wake me up before you go go who needs Bale if you've got Sissoko'...
...there is a fine line these days. I openly sang (and enjoyed) 'his eyes are offside...'
There has also been a lack of invention. I could never figure out why we didnt manage to adapt 'You are my sunshine' for Sonny as an example.

Its all been taken too seriously. The noise round our club has amplified in the last couple of years and the sheer number of blue tick twitter accounts and YT channels sowing discourse have taken their toll.

We have a large % of our fanbase that dream of being another club rather than Spurs, I find it odd when it goes beyond admiration which it often does, where are the fans sticking the flag in the sand to say "this is Spurs, this is my club" its such a rarity now.

I think supporters have forgotten what it actually means to support their side, its far to transactional now IMO

There's probably a psychological overload going on with many topics and subjects these days.

Think years back to a situation that really was meaningful, and one would overthink it, create narratives and stories in your own mind/head, largely driven by the anxiety and stress of that situation. Not healthy but normal(ish).

These days that intermittent internal dialogue has been supplemented by an external dialogue that doesn't leave you alone. It's not intermittent, It's always ON... there to be consumed and feeding you daily. And of course, built on negativity, what's wrong, and complaint.

What would that do to any relationship?
It's the method to create divide, dislike and/or distance.

People never seemed to care about things before which now seem more important than supporting the team.

I stopped going to games in massive part because of the negativity around the place, was eroding my enjoyment and I just realised the best seat in the house for me, was literally at home.
