Harry Kane MBE

So that's 14 goals in 13 PL starts since 14 Dec. Seem to remember Lineker going on a prolific run like that back in the early nineties, also Sheringham. Not sure it's been done since. Not over so many games anyway.

Great credit to Kane for converting those ..

That said, some credit to Poch & rest of team for us actually being competitive in the vast majority of those games, and giving Kane the chance.

Too often over the years we have had a decent run (4-6 games), then completely go missing for a few games as well

Indeed.

Going back through the archives, back to when I first started following Tottenham:

Lineker (as mentioned) scored 15 goals in his first 13 league games at the start of 1991/92.
Sheringham scored 14 goals in 12 league games on his way to the Golden Boot in 1992/93.

The only comparable purple patches that spring to mind in recent years are:

Bale scored 14 goals in 15 games during the latter part of his 2012/13 campaign.
Defoe scored 14 goal in 18 PL games at the start of 2009/10 but he only found the net a further 4 times after the new year.

Keane (2007) and VdV (2011) jointly hold the club record for scoring in 5 consecutive PL games (along with Teddy in 1993) but neither finished those seasons with as many goals as Harry has already slotted home so far this campaign.

Hutton was a beast of a RB for half a season.

And then he was crap :(

Agree, but he got a real bad knee injury which kept him out for a while and then on his comeback " rent a quote" made him play 4 games in 10 days, the last one against the Arse and he broke down again and he was never the same after that.

Indeed.

Thanks Steve. Looking through your stats for Kane's goals above I see he was subbed a few times in those games. Don't suppose either Lineker or Sheringham were - so that would make Harry's 14-in-13 pretty much on a par.

Didn't he beat up his dad as well? Real switched on guy that Hutton.

I just can't believe this player came out of "nowhere".

I am so proud and happy that we have this player in our squad, one of our own.

A legend in the making :D
