Guglielmo Vicario

the first mistake was VDV's, if he is positioned correctly Vicario doesn't need to get involved at all

Vicario made a mistake whilst trying to get VDV out of the brick

He didn’t need to come out for the ball in the first place. But if you come for the ball you need to deal with. He got another chance and fudged it up again.

If VDV makes a mistake then you’ll call him out. You’ll never say VDV fudged up there but Vicario also did too. You’ll just say VDv fudged up.

he absolutely had to come for it, else the forward would have been in on goal, as VDV had completely lost track of, well, everything

Vic should have put the ball out of play, he had a shocker

100%

Vic had a shocker, but he didn't cause the initial problem, and nobody bothered to try and help him out after his mistake

Udogie chickened out of a tackle before the shot was taken too
All those basic errors are killing us. It would help us so much if we could avoid all those fudgeups and instead just string simple passes together and keep our heads calm. We are our own worst enemy at the moment.

Works both ways. You were the first to post on this thread after the game.

And if you go back through the thread you’ll find I’ve praised him after his good performances against Monaco for example. Tonight was another step back.

But some fans just can’t own up when their favourite player messes up and have to bring other players into it.

Didn’t see the game as I’m abroad. Just heard about the booing. Absolutely ashamed of our fans.

Say what you like about Vic as a keeper but he seems a good character and always comes out and faces the cameras. Add to that the fact that booing one of your own during a game is a clam move of epic proportions.

We’re getting what we deserve.
The mind boggles. Booing the team as a collective after a poor performance is one thing. Booing an individual player, especially the goalkeeper who is the most isolated player on the pitch is just counter productive - what benefit do any of these clowns think they are getting from it...,

I for real dont understand why they are so stubborn and thick and refuse to do the bloody basics and just clear the ball. Every bloody week. Same brick. Not just vic, all of them.

Next week we will gift goals to opposition. How do you review each game and then do the same bloody thing 2 days later?

He clearly tried to clear the ball. And he probably thought that was safer than clearing into the stands because they could throw it in quickly with the multiball system.

To me it's symptomatic of where we are under Frank.

First part of the season we were all about just doing the basics. Just clear it.

That worked alright, but we obviously also needed to improve our possession game.

Then part way into the season with two games a week, injuries and everything happening we're going to try to start playing more. Having spent most of preseason and the early season not doing that. Now we're going to play with risk, having not practised that for quite a while. So we make a lot of mistakes trying that. Both in terms of actually succeeding in doing it, but also when to try it.

You don't get better at those decisions just clearing it at the slightest hint of a problem. Quite the opposite.

But continue at this rate and he wont have time to ride it out cos he will be sacked (I am not in favour of that) and our poor form continued from last season.

Maybe too much tinkering and players are not able to adjust
