I understand, of course, that's not doing what I thought it was.Why would I be in trouble? I am not attributing that view to what I think of Israel, I am highlighting it as a view Netty had about Palestine.

I am clearly answering your point by saying what I would not do, to your point about how far you can be pushed, as an example of what HE did do in claiming the holocaust came from a meeting with a Palestinian cleric. Hence my point about saying it to heighten tensions further.
I can stand by what I have said because I am not saying what you are claiming I have said.
Before Hamas existed there was instead the PLO. Guess what the PLO's stated aim was?... To establish an Arab state over the entire territory of the former Mandatory Palestine, advocating the elimination of Israel. Over time the PLO softened their stance and started to at least indicate they would agree a two state solution.Till before Hamas existed? As in the point I was making.
I got mine from the MODNot just me, pretty much everyone who doesn't get their information from Al Jazeera.

Interesting seeing what it's surrounded by too.

I'd say the difference between being one of the architects of something like the holocaust and being a strong supporter of it who meets with with and encourages those carrying it out is a fairly small one.
I'm fairly sure Netanyahu himself clarified that some time ago.
I'm not convinced much would change for the better unless the people and those in power in the countries surrounding Israel actually accept the ongoing existence of IsraelI am talking on a human every day level
Although I agree with the principal of your comments, there are plenty of things at that level which could make a difference on both sides. One would be Netanyahu not being in the picture anymore. When you you have someone that dangerous making up lies with intention of stoking up even more division, then you have problems. So he needs to take one between the eyes and the whole scenario would be much better also.

Took over from the PLO who were formed in 1964 with the goal of eliminating Israel through armed struggle.Hamas took over Gaza in 2007. You must know this
Israel have been prepared to sit down and negotiate two state solutions and made offers (at least two of which on the face of them were pretty damn good offers). The states immediately surrounding Israel are ruled by people who only want a one state solution. The last party to sit down and negotiate a two state solution with Israel was overthrown by Hamas, with the support of the people in Gaza (and Iran of course).I think there is a need for that on both sides of the fence. Which is my overall point. Just because Israel government do what they do with a little more swagger and diplomacy, doesn't mean they don't look and view Palestine with the same level of distain as the other way. I think its pretty clear from the verbiage that comes

At the end of the day Israel has the right to exist, Jews have the right to a homeland.
Absolutely. Nothing more than I would wish for the Palestine people to live free of Hamas, have good ties with their neighbours where they can actually both prosper and live in peace, freedom and dignity.Jews and Palestinians both have that right........
