Been vegi 20 years, given up fake meats recently(ish) and am now trying out gluten free also.

Hey mate, I'd normally go rump or sirloin. There's no point getting anything on the bone as you're going to take it straight off and tenderise it. Not as thin as a minute steak, but you want to get it pretty thin. Then, of course, your cook times are going to come right down as well.

There's two videos on the channel 4 website showing Gordon Ramsay doing Steak Diane

He did it with Sirloin...trimmed off all the fat and used a rolling pin to flatten it out

Will try those roasted potatoes tonight

What meat can I make to go with it? I was thinking chicken

Am attempting a Linguine Alla Amatriciana tonight, but am looking for a side dish to go with it. It's a pancetta-y tomato based linguine kind of sauce, so I'm thinking maybe a garlic mushroom kind of thing or something involving courgettes/aubergines or that kind of thing. Any ideas anyone?

hmm, I'm not sure about blue cheese before, never tried it, what's it like? Ah and are the mushrooms generally raw in it?

Raw button mushroms cut in large piece, lettuce cut in chunks, blue cheese salad dressing, few tomato pieces for colour. Winner!

I'm not massively in to raw mushrooms though to be honest, I do mean to try blue cheese soon but probably another time. Thanks though!

Ive seen his recipes. I use a steak mallet and Ramsey can lick my balls, you need to put the mustard on the steak, not in the cream... I'd happily take him on :D

Also, I find the parsley a little unnecessary.

Did the Linguine alla amatriciana. fudging great. Ended up doing garlic mushrooms with it and getting in some olive and oregano bread with oil and balsamic vinager to go alongside. Pretty quick and easy and it was fudging great if I do say so myself \o/

As a student I do eat a lot of crap but once every now and end it's nice to do a properly boss meal.
