What I dont understand is how so many people think we should be able to sign any player who's on the "hot list". These players will want to join the 10/12 elite teams either for the chances of winning things, the cash, location, life style or friends. We might be just about in the top 20 of attractive clubs. Sure ENIC could have thrown money at the club but it would not have guaranteed success and they never started with the years of CL money the elite clubs have had.
How would the portugese press know that?
