Going by the number of mistakes he started making just before going off he was clearly tiring. Was never going to last the 90 given he's been getting so few minutes anyway.

Think you and a few others are looking for something that isn’t there. He had a good first half. He was fading second half. He hasn’t played much football which means there is a high chance he won’t be lasting a whole game. Jose wants to win the game, made the changes and we score two goals. If Jose really didn’t like him he wouldn’t give him a start in a quarter final in a competition he loves. We all love Dele and it seems some get more overly precious whenever he is taken off....

Wel I saw much much more from him than Banjo shins for a start, but he was subbed too

Jose has confirmed he took him off for the flick. I missed it as I was out dropping something off

and I’m far form precious about dele. I’ve been saying he would be a victim of Jose for a long time and he couldn’t fit in. But I also think he deserves a fair craic when I see players like Banjo shins getting games

Fair enough when you're managing the likes of Real Madrid and early Aramovich Chelsea who can buy the best players with little to no faults in their games and be able to bomb out the likes of De Bruyne and Salah because of the rough edges, but he would be wise to remember that we aren't going to be buying Kane and Son level players and should look at Lamela Moura and Bergwijn to see the level of attacking talent we usually end up with.

Someone posted earlier that outside of Son and Kane in the league our next highest goal scorers have 1 a piece... i think sacrifing a loose ball here and there for the potential of some added goals is a fair trade.

You make a valid point. Certainly against sides which sit back, I would prefer Dele to a Bergwyn or Lucas.

To be honest this reaction to the incident is worrying me somewhat about the mindset of the manager - i don't want our players to be scared of losing the ball, i want them taking risks when trying to attack and break down lesser, more organised opponents, afterall there's X amount of players behind, supposedly drilled defensively, to clean up. Different argument in big games v rivals where every ball counts tho tbf

Dele has been encouraged to play a high risk game since he joined us. It has served us well. I think that it could work in a Mourinho team but he would need to be one of the front two with cover behind. Understandably, Mourinho thinks that there are more goals in Son/Kane but I can't help thinking that Dele is a better bench option than Moura or Bale, when we are chasing a game, right now.

More respect if it was a level field. Moura gives the ball away nearly ever attack today ziltch and rightly so, but Alli who was a bright spark today gets rinsed.

That's not man management genius
