Dane Scarlett

Good news all round I'd say. Let's hope he gets some good playing time
I don’t think he will, he hardly set league 1 on fire last season and Ipswich are doing well so far in the Championship, i think he will be back up, no way he goes there as first choice.

Being optimistic and being realistic are 2 completely different things. I have a friend who is a season ticket holder, die hard Ipswich fan and he doesn’t see him playing regularly.

The ipswich fan forum they seem happy (one poster even has a happy danescarlet day as his sig). Tried to get him in january allegedly. Dane says this has been in the works for weeks. They reckon freddie (no idea about their squad) will be used in cup games, if he stays.

Has he seen much of Scarlett then? Not sure any of us really know what Scarlett can do now. I will say he looked a bit more involved in the game against Fulham the other night than I’ve seen in previous appearances, maybe confidence his growing?

Ipswich manager allegedly described him as one of the most exciting prospects in world football a while back.

So think he should get minutes. (As long as he doesn't get sacked).

This was what mckenna had to say about scarlett a while back.

“One of the only players they have who doesn’t have Championship experience is one of the best young strikers in world football, in my opinion, in Dane Scarlett,”

He did well at the start of last season when they were playing it on the floor and keeping possession. Once results started falling off they reverted to goofball which he will never have a hope of succeeding in - especially not against League 1 defenders/referees.

Does your mate know the inside of the Ipswich set up and how they view Scarlett and what their squad needs are? Is your friend privy to the discussions between the clubs and the agreement that they came to?

I can only imagine what other fans on other forums think when the cruise this forum at times.

They are mostly underwhelmed as there is no option to buy and it's not a permanent signing. Although his time at portsmouth iseffecting views aswell.

For some reason I prefer to base my judgments on youth players from experts who know what they're talking about rather than die hard fans whose actual football knowledge may be tiny, and deep influenced by their passion for the club they support.
