West Ham still need a good 4 or 5 signings to get anywhere near their level of last season. Their team (importantly their bench) from yesterday was so weak:

Fabianski
Coufal
Zouma
Johnson
Cresswell
Soucek
Rice
Bowen
Benrahma
Fornals
Antonio

Substitutes
Scamacca
Lanzini
Downes
Areola
Cornet
Coventry
Randolph
Ashby

Plus they're playing Conference League (if they get through the playoff, which is no guarantee for West Ham)

Rice on pens is an odd one, missed 2 ofd his last 3 now, fund it odd no one else would step up, Antonio, Bowen, even Soucek would be a better choice surely.

Anyone seen any reliable analysis of their finances? THey get decent attendances now, but whilst their priciest ticket prices are high, their cheapest ticket prices are the lowest in the PL

Apparently Silkeborg have an artificial pitch and West Ham are worried about aggravating players injuries. Let's see if they rest certain players

It sounds more like he will be their version of that Brad Friedel lookalike guy we have. Like a liaison for the foreign signings to show them what is what and to help them settle in etc.
Weird to call him a Sporting Director though, If they need him to do those traditional Sporting Director duties like deal with negotiations and make contacts then they are fudged
