Best album of the 90s

You're using Nick Cave to make a point? Oh dear.....

In Utero and Nevermind

Ten

Everclear - Sparkle and Fade

Dangerous

RATM

Ok Computer

Metallica - Black Album

Spice Girls -Spice

Definitely Maybe/Morning Glory

BloodSugarSexMagic

Ugly Kid Joe - America's Least Wanted

Countdown to Extinction

Feeder - Polythene

Siamese Dream

All three Foos albums

Machine Head - Burn My Eyes

Use Your Illusion II

My list so far. If I had to pick one it would be RATM. Not my favourite on the list but in terms of creating, defining and kicking the living brick out of the metal genre and indeed any genre, I don't think it can be beat (in that decade at least)

Special mention for Megadeth, Countdown to Extinction. Listening to the lyrics now, it's scary how accurately Dave Mustaine predicted the state of the planet on so many levels.

That list made me realise just how difficult this will be

I'll leave nominations open for another day and pull them all together. If we've got too many, I'll set up a multiple choice poll to narrow it down.

Question - should we limit it to one album per band?

The Holy Bible - Manics
Fuzzy logic - Super Furry Animals
Expecting to Fly - Bluetones
Maximum High - shed 7

Maybe we need to do it by year- then work those down!

Phuckin Hell, some of my favourite albums have been mentioned in this thread. I'll repeat what a few of you have said:

Nirvana - Nevermind
The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation
Nas - Illmatic
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
The Gza - Liquid Swords
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

I would add:

Raekwon - Only built 4 Cuban Lynx
Ghostface Killah - Ironman
Ed Rush and Optical - Wormhole
Origin Unknown (and others) - Sound in Motion
Roni Size and Reprezent - New Forms

IMO, hip-hop, dance and drum n bass music all peaked in the 90s.
