American politics

So it's on Biden to do a better job than Obama did (not hard) at winning over Republicans by offering them concessions in his bills.

He's been around long enough to know where all their limits are and what they want/need. Simply don't propose anything past their limits and include things they want. That's what politics is.

That's how it would work in a normal democracy, but not when one party is happy to wait for their turn to be in charge (thanks to the cyclical nature of their two party system) to properly fudge brick up.

The Democrats need their own long term plan of turning even states permanently blue in order to undo all the gerrymandering and court stacking. Not sure they have the spine to enact some real reform of their systems though.

That's one way to look at it. Another way is that most white people voted for a narcissistic bigoted criminal murdering autocratic misogynistic sociopath whos continued presidency would likely kill us all.

Since white people make up 80% of the population, their votes have a bigger impact. White males with no education vote republican every time despite it being very much against their own interests.

Yet the clear intent of the tweet was "look at silly whitey, all voting in the orange man."

Interesting to see through the lens of someone like that.

The Republicans won't be able to control the votes of every senator. There are a handful who have votes that could be won with some compromise.
