In addition to the things mentioned above, there are a lot of things they have to prepare and clear out on the building site before our league games. Having to do all that twice a week is a lot of wasted time.

Not forgetting Dele also not being completely fit and the form of eriksen and Dier falling through the floor.

It's apparenrly due to the reduced facilities (such as parking, additional broadcasting access, corporate seating) which are strict criteria from UEFA but which the building works mean we can't comply with.

As for last night's game, I think I am still in shock at what I witnessed. I thought we were as bad as we could get against Leverkusen. I was wrong.
Someone questioned earlier whether we have been playing the occasion. I think that must have played a part. We have looked as if we believe we are out of our depth. That mental preparedness has to be down to the coaching staff but they can only do so much.

I'll go to the Moscow game at Wembley. They are stilll my team and they'll get my suppprt (as I know is the case with us all. That's the life of a football supporter). But they had better at least put in a modicum of effort.
 
All Poch has done since he arrived is fudge off the cups every time we've had a cup game

We have won 3 cups since 1991, 25 years, it's absolutely pathetic for a club that is the 12th biggest in the world

Im fed up of seeing the same old boring excuses and comments rolled out after each pathetic performance
 
I reckon at least 30k won't go to the CSKA game and if by chance we do fluke a win and go through to the EL, I'd reckon we won;t get no more than 15-20k for each game, the people will show their annoyance and vote with their feet
 
It's only football and you shouldn't.

But last night in a long time I was furious with everything and everyone at the club except Hugo.

The whole CL as been a chore

Wembley
The poor draw - no glamour teams
Poor results
Attitude towards it
Poor performances

I can't get my head around spending all season getting into it and then not taking it seriously.

I don't understand what we are taking seriously anymore?

League cup? No
EL? No
League? No
CL? No
FA cup ? No
 
Both Ferguson and Wenger struggled from time to time especially at the beginning to get the balance right between league and Europe. Add to that I believe our league is one of the most competitive in Europe at the moment where every game pretty much requires meticulous preparation, Poch clearly hasn't got balance right so far. Hopefully he will get more chances to put it right.

The only blame that can be given to Levy is if Poch has asked for players but instead been given Janssen, Sissoko etc as alternatives. But that doesnt appear to be the case.
 
It's no good blaming Poch too much for the way we played as some have. Certainly he has to be blamed but not sacked!
Sissoko...He make big mistake. He has to study players more carefully and not buy on a whim because we got spanked by 5 at Saudi Sportswashing Machine when we played complete brick.

It can't be easy being Manager!
I think he should have played his strongest Team yesterday...without doubt. It's no good being in CL if your not playing to your best.
Confidence matters..

I haven't seen it but being English isn't his first language was he talking about signings or did he mean 'quality in our play out on the pitch'.
Even if he meant signings , regardless if he has been backed, he has a point.

Reality check.

We will not be able to compete in both Europe and the league while we are buying cheap. Our wages are roughly half of what the money teams pay and even behind teams like Leicester and even more so Liverpool.

We are about par or slightly above with our current financial restraints/situation.

We cannot hope to progress while we have transfer windows like this summer (see @Vega above). Wanyama (bargain surprisingly cheap? Wages?) is the exception unfortunately not the rule. We are buying players as 'future' investments.
Some day we 'may' just buy them to improve the team.

That is, and with respect, rubbish and a typical fans view/reaction when their team falters. The team tried and IMHO always do 99.9% of the time. They may sometimes fail but it is rarely for the lack of effort.
We lost last night due to injuries and poor performances a crucial time but the top reason we are out is because we failed at Wembley.
