Mighty Spurs vs. Emirates Marketing Project

These players are learning all the time and I think we may see a blip in there with a draw maybe but we're set up to do this 38 league games and were well on the right path

I hope our blips come in the cups. Liverpool in a few weeks, maybe another one in the CL group and one in the FA Cup. Should see us covered until our European exit later in the season.

Fantastic. Don't understand why Son didn't take the penalty; I said to the bloke next to me Lamela would go to the keeper's left and he'd save it unless it was right in the corner. I got a look like "what are the lottery numbers?" afterwards; I just wished I'd been wrong. Some of our passing got a bit sloppy as the game wore on and City pressed to get something out of the game, Lamela again with a few too many flicks and tricks that didn't come off. I also thought we were leaving an uncomfortable amount of space on our right through being a bit sluggish getting across, and that was where most of what threat they did pose seemed to come from, but it would be highly churlish to try and say it was anything other than an excellent performance from the lads all round. They hardly got a sniff until late on. Almost perfect.

We need to pass sooner, it happened a lot today. Son needs to play people more as well, he keeps drawing defenders to him then running to the line instead of laying it back.
Neither Lamela nor son should be taking the pens, it should be eriksen imo.

Sure who takes the pens would have been agreed before hand but who cares now... We won against the unbeatables who now have pretty much the same start as last season

Yeah I agree that lamela loses the ball too much. He needs to sort that out. Get back to the simple effective player he made himself to be.

Pep Guardiola has lauded Mauricio Pochettino as one of world’s best managers as he prepares Emirates Marketing Project, the leaders, to take on second-placed Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

City have won all six of their Premier League games while Spurs are four points behind. Guardiola is as admirer of Pochettino and his Tottenham side, having also come up against the Argentinian when he coached Espanyol and the Catalan managed Barcelona.

Then, in February 2009, Pochettino inflicted Barça’s first derby defeat in 27 years when beating them 2-1 at Camp Nou.

“We played against Pochettino as players and then as coaches. I think he’s one of the best managers in the world – I enjoy watching Tottenham,” said Guardiola.

“He’s doing an amazing job in London at Spurs. The way they play I like a lot – they’re aggressive and have a lot of quality. The basis of the team is the national team with [Dele] Alli, [Kyle] Walker, [Harry] Kane – they have a lot of quality. Last season they were there until the last couple of games for the championship.

“This year they’re playing at a high level – they’re in second position so it will be a tough game and I’m looking forward to going to White Hart Lane for the first time in my life. We will try and do our job.

“All of the fans who like football and watch football can enjoy [Spurs] – they’re proactive, not reactive. There are many teams who wait to see what you do and then react – they don’t wait to see what they’re going to do. They want to create their own game. That’s why I like them. When I saw the last game against CSKA, against Liverpool, against Middlesbrough, I like what I’m watching.”

Maybe not so much after we smash them

It's the old Fergie trick, flatter us to the heavens in the media then say to his players 'Lads, it's Spurs.'

Infuriatingly it seemed to work every time.

That was a different time and a different Spurs. It won't work this time.

"Lads, it's only Tottenham"

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Kudos To Kandi and Rorschach!

Emirates Marketing Project manager Pep Guardolia:

"It was a tough game, we knew that. Tottenham have been a very good team for the last three years, fighting. We were little late in all aspects. We could not have so many chances, in many aspects they were better than us.

"It is October, you cannot imagine what my team has already done. I am new here. So far it has been an amazing performance but we need more, we have to work more, it is what it is.

"I never thought that we would not lose a game, you can't imagine that. It is normal to the process, sometimes it happens and it can help us improve."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino:

"It was a great, great victory for us against this opposition. I am very happy. Sometimes when you have a plan, it is good, sometimes less so, but Emirates Marketing Project are a great team. It is difficult to play against them.

"We need to follow this after the international match and we have more tough games after the international break. If you play like we did today with passion and aggression then you will always have a chance. It is always about mentality. That is what helps us run and play as we want to.

"The collective performance was strong. It is too early to take this into the table yet. We are still creating our philosophy."

Did he say we have been good for just the last three years? Is he out of his mind?

It's like the old days when Man Cuty used to mean 3 points every time we played them. Only difference is we've improved and pushed on whilst City have sold their soul.

Very happy with this. There were a couple of moments where my heart was in my mouth but we dug in and saw it out.

More of the same resilience please Spiurs and we may just have a shot of challenging for the title again.

Moment of the game for me was this:
City played it back to Bravo, who got under pressure from Son. Bravo passed it to Otamendi, who was immediately put under pressure from Alli. Otamendi could only slice it over the sideline, followed by a big grin from Poch. He absolutely loved it!

No joke. I just can't see us winning. Doesn't matter how well we play. I've seen us end up with nothing too many times and we are overdue a kick in the nads.
You need to realise that Spurs are rather good. Even without Kane, Dier and Dembele, we are still rather good.

Fully deserved today, missed a pen and they had Otamendi on 5 yellows and Sterling on 3 yellows.

Only downside for me is Sissoko, his passing and awareness of other players is just like Andros Townsend; passes to where they were 2 seconds ago and never into their path.

OK Guys,
Off to the Beach Club very soon.
Will watch the game there with a few Spurs fans.
Will have seafood platter for lunch ( crab claws, lobster tails, jumbo prawns, octopus & red snapper )
Wash it down with some ice cold Tusker Lagers - many if we are doing well.:)

We will conquer - BELIEVE COYS

I said BELIEVE

I LOVE SPURS :)

What I LOVED, IN THIS GAME:

- Our intensity
- Our pressing
- Very quick crisp accurate passing
- Our PACE on the break !!!!
- Kenyan, Wanyama's great shot at goal. He will score some for us
- EVERYTHING

I LOVE SPURS..

Just got back from the game. WHAT a game.

If we keep playing like this we can win the league, and we were playing without our best players.

Anyway, meal was good, MANU result was good .
MANY Tusker Lagers were consumed.
Some MANU fans joined us. They were rooting for us ;)

Wife had to bring me back - bless here

At the moment very happy :)

COYS

I think they were lucky that Kane was injured. Son had an easy game against Otamendi, had Kane been up there against him the guy would've been truly embarassed.
