Rafael van der Vaart believes the Premier League is the toughest division in the world, admitting it is hard to maintain his fitness throughout the season.
The Holland international is a good judge given he has played in four of Europe's top leagues, beginning his career with Dutch side Ajax before moving to Germany to play for Hamburg in 2005.
He then enjoyed a two-year spell with Spanish giants Real Madrid before moving to White Hart lane in the summer of 2010.
The 29-year-old believes the Premier League is physically the toughest he has played in and thinks that may have played a part in the struggles of English clubs in Europe this season.
With Euro 2012 on the horizon this summer, Van der Vaart also admits he faces a battle to stay fit for the tournament given the physical demands placed on him in England.
"The English league is by far the toughest in the world," he said.
"I can judge that personally. The Premier League is stronger than Spain.

If I'm honest he doesn't seem to be sure where he's meant to be playing most of the time, nevermind trying to organise other players. Think he could make a terrific coach one day though.
Gallas seems like the readymade manager, but that may be because he often stands around in suits with Les and Tim looking important...

Mourinho never kicked a ball.
He is very knowledgeable, intelligent and knows the game so well. Hugely experienced player too. He knows other leagues, has probably built some great contacts, obviously knows how the game should be played and probably has his feet firmly on the ground after what he and his wife went though, he wouldnt take anything for granted. He already has a love for the club and a great relationship with the fans, and for crying out loud he is handsome as fudge.

Fair enough if you think there's a good manager in VDV, I can't see it but am more than happy to have him (and his wife) at the club as a player.

I'm not delibaretly trying to be pedantic or anything here but I'm still unsure of what you mean.
VDV plays football - Terrific player with great technique and a beautifal face but often doesn't stick to his position which can lead to areas of the pitch being congested, which may show a lack of tactical nous when it comes to formations and player organization
Mourinho doesn't play football - Has won a few trophies in his time due to understanding formations and tactics
How does VDV know more about anything in a managerial sense? I don't understand.
