***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

It reminded me of the best and worst of Arsenal and United in their hey days

Taking the lead like we did and then turning in some more great chances was great . The fight from the players was great too but their a lines within that... We stepped over them on more than one occasion

What amazed me and impressed me was the whole "team" philosophy yesterday and we had a one in all in attitude which is gonna be great as we go forward

I think this is spot on. It's good to see players with some backbone in a Spurs shirt but our inexperience did get the better of us on a few occasions. For example, at 2-0 up there was absolutely no need for us to get involved at all and Rose and Dembele did. Likewise, Dier's assault on Fabregas in the last few mins was stupid given that he was on a yellow already. Hopefully, we learn to channel and use that aggression properly next season and beyond.

That said, I'd rather what happened last night than we rolled over and got battered like has happened so often in my time supporting Spurs.

I really don't give toss about where we finnish as long in a CL spot.
Arsenal are just another team in London.

My hatred for Arsenal is automatic, but it doesnt make my blood boil like against Chelsea, if someone flies into a challenge on Sanchez or Ozil that doesnt make me hard, but 2 footed on Fabregas or Hazard from Dier and its like natural Viagra.

It's certainly tougher for a London club (us) than it is for a club that plays no derbies (Leicester).

I don't think that there were any players available in January that would have made much of a difference to our title push. We've matched Leicester since Christmas, we fell short at the beginning of the season.
it's not just local derbies with us ,is it. The big three,if you can include spammers in that LOL,
see us as their primary rivals. That's the thing.

Why??????????????????????????????

I really hope next season we play Chelsea after a Champions League game, we can then use the "Well we played in Europe midweek unlike them" if we put in a poor performance.

After getting over the initial anger of not winning that game there are so many positives to take from it. Whilst we went a bit too far we showed we are no longer a soft touch. We were never going to win the league this season even if we had won last night, Chelsea would have rolled over for Leicester. We can now forget that and concentrate on finishing 2nd and with a bit less pressure on. But this fight, this team spirit. We will be back stronger next year, anyone that thinks we are only where we are because the big sides have had bad seasons can think again. We started the season slowly whilst we are finding our feet, we won't next season!

I don't
I wanna play them when we're fresh and ready and to play them off the park
And then we can gloat

7:48 and 10:10 - well played Eric, well played
Over 90 minutes it looked bad but not that brutal. But this compilation... Oh boy, oh boy... I think "Chopper" Harris and "Bites Yer Legs" Hunter would cringe at some of these challenges.

If ever there was a time to "do" Fabregas, it was then when the game had gone. The only shame is that it didn't result in a serious injury.

Although this may well be our best season in Premier League, it's disappointing we lost a 2-0 lead to an underperforming team and we completely lost our cool in the end. If anything we came across as the aggressors.

We lost a 2 goal lead to a time who although underperforming were last seasons champions and contains some VERY highly paid, VERY good players. The 2 goals conceded were both down to errors by our Player of the Season, he has been so damn good this year i would let him off.

A truly classic Spurs performance would have been to lose the game, which we didn't do. We also showed them we wont be pushed around, we wont be intimidated

Sitting here with my optimists hat on I think last night will turn out to be a massive moment going forward, what they players will have learned, the manager, the togetherness.

Cant wait for next season to be fair.

We still don't have second place and we'll be missing Alli and probably Dembele for the last two games. It was a dumb, indisciplined challenge however much I enjoyed it. It also could have been a straight red in which case it'd be a 3 game ban. Would that carry over to next season?

Suspensions carry over to the next season.

We looked young in that second half. For periods we did well, but when under pressure we struggled. And when they scored their second we had quite a lot of time left, but we failed to play our game.

Not surprising, we are very young. I think the lads will learn from this. Pochettino won't allow them not to.

yeah...I was saying at the time...put this one to bed...we could have, anyway, scumsea would have given Leicester the title anyway!

I think you do Leicester a disservice Glasgow. I am gutted this morning but I can still recognize that they are a very good team. They press high up the pitch brilliantly and relentlessly. They are clinical in attack, putting away an extraordinary percentage of their chances Whatever you say about Huth and Morgan they are effective, they are not bullied at corners like we are. Make no mistake every team is guilty of holding to gain an advantage just watch verts have his arms around players at every set piece , watch dier hold on to players who go past him. As far as I could see yesterday we played like thugs in the second half (the other team played like cnuts but then they always are), that was not a glorious advert for our football. As I have already said Leicester deserve their title. Soo much class from our manager in congratulating Leicester yesterday can't have been easy. Take note London scum we are not going away with this man in charge. We will come for you again next season and this time we will finish the job.
I really don't think I am. If that was an Arsenal or Chelsea team "defending" like that I think you would view it differently.

We were naive last night. What a poor way to signoff our first proper title push in 50 years!
We lost the plot! AND showed ourselves up!

To a degree, i would agree. However, there was A LOT of provocation and Chelski are much sneakier in how they let games get dragged to that level.
We will have to learn to deal with those things more subtly in future.
Most of our back 4 being on yellows didn't help us in the second half as @thfcsteff says
It did show our bench options not being up to that much from an offensive and creative point of view sadly. we needed a third imo, or even a greater threat of one as they'd maybe have been even more cautious.
Remember that it was their cup final as well..

I blame Clattenburg here for not taking control of the game. You could see for a mile off that the game was getting out of hand and he didn't do anything to prevent it. He could have pulled he captains aside and tell them to calm down.

I have not seen a Spurs side play like this before...[only saw the punchups] but we know how chelms play.
Outside chance of winning the Prem as well.

I want to see us more composed next season and play football throughout...
lets hope yesterday was the occasion..on the other hand we just can't be bullied
anymore into submission.
just to note ..I thought Rose should have had a penalty from that challenge from willian.
Nothing was given was it?
