**TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v CHELSEA - FA CUP SEMI FINAL OMT**

Adebayor cost us today. If he scores like anyone would after the Van der Vaart pass, it would have been another game. Turning point

He is absolute toss. Tottenham in the market over the last few years, absolutely useless. We've mostly signed a bunch of overpaid, overrated, ageing tossers.

I don't think there was a problem with the players mentality tbh; I think things slipped from us wuth the timings of the first two goals; the second particularly.

When chasing the game I could sort of understand bringing on a extra striker, but that was suicide as it meant we list the midfield immiduiately, couldn't retain possession and meant we were picked off on the break as Chelsea played traingles. Major gamble gone wrong, but the defending for the 3rd and 5th was shambolic.

This defeat will REALLY hurt if Chelsea finish above us or we finish 4th and Chelsea win the Cl...

Also, I wish our players would just SHUT THE F-UP before big games; Chelsea had perfect motivationafter Bales big mouth!!!

Anyone know what our lord and master had to say about this? Do we deserve to be here? Do we praise him for allowing us to savour being massacred in a semi-final? Is this 'the best they've ever had it'?:evil::evil::evil:

I can't call playing Cudicini a bad call tbh. I can't call Arry's team selection bad, I simply do not understand why this man continuously panics and throws Defoe on when things are going wrong. Switching to 4-4-2 when we're down has rarely worked so why the hell does he keep doing it? It beggers belief.

This from the Guardian MBM made me feel a little better. I think he's right.

The Guardian MBM said:
Final thoughts: Future readers of Rothman's, or Wikipedia, or whatever, will see this scoreline and assume that Spurs were on the receiving end of a genuine pasting. They'd be wrong. This was a fake pasting. A counterfeit thumping. It was the result not of Chelsea's immense superiority, but of a referee's idiocy, and a goalkeeper's good fortune, and a subsequent tactical change that backfired badly.

Martin Atkinson, after the Balotelli/Song incident last week ÔÇô if he'd failed to see that incident it would have been embarrassing, but he then had to admit that he had seen it after all, and just made a totally inexplicable decision ÔÇô should not referee another match this season. He should be put in the corner of a room, wearing a dunce's cap, and told to think about what he's done, until May if necessary.

Even accepting that incident, how Spurs must wish that Bale had not been at hand to turn the ball in and apparently bring them back into the match a few minutes later. A penalty, and 35 minutes against 10 men, would have made them considerably more likely victors.

Then, Redknapp brought the impressive Van der Vaart off, and brought on Defoe. The result was Chelsea running wild in the final 20 minutes against an understaffed midfield. If he had to take off a midfielder, surely the disappointing Modric would have been a better choice. And then, once the score went to 3-1, and given what had happened up to then, they just gave up.

Congratulations to Chelsea. They took advantage of all these things impressively. But anyone who watched this game will surely always consider this a compromised victory.

Another thing, we have a shaky defense at the moment, so why on earth play a new keeper, i dont care if cudicini was good or not, thats not my point, i think we already lack stability at the back we didnt need a change of keeper aswell.

I think Friedel does better on the 3rd and 4th goals.

Of course there was a problem with the players' mentality, we conceded 3 goals in 13 minutes. Their second was obviously a gigantic joke but we managed to get a goal back, we looked like we might threaten. We did for 15 minutes or so and then did the customary Tottenham collapse.

Also why is Adebayor getting such stick? He was our only attacking focal that was near the CBs. Do you think we would have had a better focal point with Defoe or Saha instead?

Sometimes Ade gets a raw deal as he is often working in very isolated positions like today at times, but still allows us to buikld attacks. Chelsea's first goal was crucial in allowing their defence to be under less pressure, especially before half-time

Another big gamble that went wrong. This was the culmination of not getting better striker options in any of the last few windows

Yes, they would do it better, even though they're brick. In theory you're right, in practice he doesn't do this. Terrible touch, doesn't win any headers, the attack seems to end when he gets the ball, out wide he puts in aimless balls.... this guy is on 200k a week or something? fudge me, can we have a special super tax on footballers, please. 90% on anything over 100k, so this guy can be rightly relieved of money he doesn't deserve. He could make a big dent in the deficit all by himself. Then hopefully he'll bugger off somewhere else.

Harry needed to leave VdV on. He was asking questions. If you want to gamble, take a centre-half of and go 3 at the back...

...but I'm sorry.

This was about the referee. There is only so much a footballer believes is possible when a referee is so obviously fudging BENT!

Am I the only one still hurting more because of Mondays's loos to Norwich? At least Chelsea are a team of seasoned if getting older winners.

Still hurts mind...

Redknapp can take some blame, yes, but if your strikers cant score to save their lifes, and the ref allows goals that arent...

Even if we had messi and maradona in our team tonight, there was no way we were going to win it. Referee wanted Chelsea to win. If we had scored another, it would have been disallowed, as soon as they had dived it would have been a penalty. We were poor but theres no way we had a chance to win this.
