Bedford is spot on. Alli is grabbing most of the headlines, and for such a young man he is playing well beyond his years and deserves his time in the spotlight, but over the course of the season there have been more consistent performers. I think Alderweireld is edging it followed closely by Lloris or Dembele. Dembele has had a stop start season with injury but on the pitch he has been transformed. If he was playing last night I'm sure there would have been a different outcome. Dier also has been a revelation in that DM role. His performances have dropped off a little in the last month IMO but he still doing fantastic. Eriksen has been going the opposite direction. He's improving with every game. Everyone else is playing to a very high standard with Kane leading the chasing pack IMO. There is no real one stand out star player in the way say Bale or Suarez were in seasons past.
The match last night was not really in keeping with the standard of performances and effort levels we have seen from Spurs this season. The West Ham attitude and determination totally threw us in the 1st half and they certainly deserved the lead. 2nd half was better by us but was tinged with an element of panic I thought. I think we showed our lack of experience last night, we didn't know how to adapt to the situation as it unfolded, and I would include the manager in that assessment.
I'll probably get flamed for this but I wouldn't mind seeing West Ham nick a CL spot along with us and Leicester. Better than the same old teams over and over.

Arch rivals? We're their big brother, I'm quite fond of them, that a club of that size can continue to stay relevant is mightily impressive.
They have been a very useful feeder club for us over the years as well, a lot of players made their start there before moving to bigger and better things with us.

I don't agree with the arch rivals thing at the moment. They were jumping between the Prem and the Championship and spouting it then. I get that we are two sides in London, but we haven't been rivals for a while.
However, they are going to be making a lot of money out of the Olympic Stadium in the future and they will not be having to pay off loans etc like we will be (£2.5 million rent a year is peanuts). As angry as that makes us it is the truth and Gold and co declaring us as their rivals for the future would be accurate given the investments in the side they will likely make.

Who are these players you speak of who went onto bigger and better things at Spurs? Beacuse certainly in the last decade or so I can't think of any. Carrick? Nope, won nothing at Spurs. Defoe? Nope, won nothing at Spurs. Kanoute? Nope, won nothing at Spurs. Parker? Nope, won nothing at Spurs. None of them even played in the CL for you. As far as Carrick and Kanoute are concerned, you were a stepping stone to "bigger and better things"!
And retirement home, don't forget.

As for that lot in the CL, I really hope not. England's coefficient is already poor and they would just ruin it even further.

Still feeling bitter about this defeat. We had a chance to go top of the league at this stage of the season for the first time since 1964 but we threw it all away ! Makes you wonder if this team has the mental strength to go all the way to win the league ! It seemed like all the players couldn't handle the pressure of expectations against West Ham ! Almost all the players were in panic mode for most of the match, especially in the first half. Just imagine, we failed to make any shots on goal in the first half for the first time in many years ! We did recover in the 2nd half but still failed to do enough to rescue the game.
I guess this is what you get for having only 1 striker who is going through a bad form. We needed Kane to score to have any chance to win this match. Instead, he was hardly in the game and even wasted 2 absolute sitters ! The Kane on form would have scored both the chances. But nothing seems to be going right for Kane now ! He should have scored atleast one of the chances when Alderweireld's shot was saved by the goalie and fell in nicely for him. But Kane was too slow to react and let the defender cleared it. Similiarly, he had another chance when Eriksen's cross or shot came to him but he wasted it again. When your only striker is in such a bad form, nothing much we can do, especially since we had no other consistent goal scorers !
It was clear we badly missed Dembele in midfield. Both Dier and Mason was easily outplayed by West Ham. Was expecting Mason to raise his game in such an important game like this but he let us down badly. This was not helped by our key players like Eriksen, Lamela and Chadli also having a bad game. Too bad we couldn't even win a freekick for Eriksen to try his luck from. Maybe we should have started with Alli in midfield. We did much better when Alli came on in the second half. But then Pochettino did a big blunder by replacing Lamela with Son. Our attack went back to shyte after that. Pochettino should have kept Lamela and replaced Mason with Son instead. When we were badly looking for goal, don't understand why Pochettino replaced a attacking player like Lamela.
It was a bad goal to concede by our defence. Our defence went missing for the goal as the West Ham player had all the time in the world to head the ball in. Maybe Lloris should have done better with the goal as he was beaten at his near post. Our defence looked in panic everytime West Ham attacked us. Thought Alderweireld and Wimmer was lucky not to receive their 2nd yellow cards each. We still have the best defence in away matches but it was pity we couldn't keep the clean sheet in such an important match like this.
Too bad we lost our 12 match unbeaten run in the away matches. Leicester gave us the chance to go top of the league in a silver platter. But too bad we couldn't accept the gift graciously. At least Arsenal and ManCity lost which means our 2nd position is not in danger for now. We still have the chance to win the league if we can improve and go on a winning run. Hope Pochettino and the team will do much better in the coming matches.

No need to be touchy, I was being nice, surely playing in the top half of the league (even being in the PL in Parkers case), the UEFA cup and collecting multiple international caps counts as bigger and better things?
Defoe played and scored in the CL for us by the way.
I'll also add, that if you ask your dad he'll remind you that football didn't start with the PL and if you look further back you'll see the likes of Paul Allen, who won everything he'd won with you again with us and more, and of course, Martin Peters, who after winning the ECWC with you stepped up and won its bigger brother (the UEFA cup) with us whilst also picking up a couple of league cup winners medals.
I wish you well for the rest of season, like I say, I think you are an impressive little club.

What other big chances did they have?.... Kane probably had the best two of the match (the rebound from Toby's shot and when he just failed to convert the cross from (I think) Eriksen.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing that West Ham deserved the win overall. They won more of the ball in the first half and defended well in the second, but despite that it was still a game decided on a single set piece, with very few other chances.

After their exploits this season in scraping through against FC Pig Farmer of Andorra before going out to Sporting Tiddly Winks of Romania we surely can't want them to get anywhere near ruining England's coefficient ever again?

I watched the game with a West Ham fan. His view was that had they not got that early goal, the game would have ended 0-0.
Edit : just read that back and it is a bit stating the obvious! The intent being to agree with @Finney Is Back in that for all they were the better team overall, they didn't create many clear cut chances either.
