Sorry but why the actual fudge is Kieran Gibs still being considered for the England squad??

He doesn't even start for Arsenal anymore (and i think Monreal is ok but nothing special)

Yet comes off the fudging bench against us, equalises and has his game of the season.

Which was more of a DISGRACE on us and less a statement of how good he is....especially as a left-back.
In fact has there ever been a player, esp a left-back, who has been in the England squad with less minutes played??

Lets face it, we are not going to get anywhere in this competition, quarter finals at best. Best time for some youngsters to get some experience.

Butland
Walker Stones Smalling Rose
Dier Alli
winger Barkley Sterling
Kane

I really have no idea of a English right winger thats actually been good this season. Maybe Vardy can operate out there and make it more like an arrow head upfront with Sterling and Vardy playing as forwards behind Kane?

I know Rose is one of us etc., but he is truly woeful at crossing and I can't see why he should start ahead of Bertrand.

Obviously with Shaw's injury (and form since joining United) and Baines' age, I understand leaving them behind and taking Rose (Gibbs cannot defend). But I don't think he should start.

A similar argument could be made for Clyne over Walker, but I feel this is a far closer contest.

Also - if Stones starts we will be lucky to make it out of the group.

Slight aside - if we take Delph I am renouncing my citizenship.

Redmond at Norwich is a decent player.

Lennon has been quite good for Everton.

That was the time I started turning my back on the England team, going to a world cup and we choose two injured players, a giraffe and a 16 year old kid as our 4 strikers.
He had just turned 17 by the time of the tournament actually

But seriously... I am still utterly baffled that that clown was picked ahead of Defoe. It angers me even more than when Nugent poached that goal from Defoe on the line in his only England appearance.

And to augment Sven's lunacy, when Owen's knee collapsed he didn't even bring the fast unknown quantity on.

When asked afterwards he said he never intended to play him - just have him along for the experience.

Even stranger - Sven had been happy for JD to loiter with the squad as a non-player, which JD rightly declined.

Sven was a tosser, who gave in to the golden generation and allowed them to take a vote over striking, then picked them again. Pride in the shirt, my arrse !

Has the experience of failing for England at a big tournament done players good in the past?

Other than Smalling, Dier and Kane that team just screams error prone. Alli isn't even playing in the position he's been playing most of this season for us...

England showing too much trust in young talented players that aren't ready has been part of the problem. Whereas the previous bunch of hyped players that have now established themselves get overlooked because the next bunch may end up being better.

A well balanced England team will be a much better learning experience for those young players that are included, and carries less of a risk of making another young players carry the blame of the nation for a couple of seasons to halt their development. Would fudging loathe to see our young Spurs players being set up to fail by playing in a team that's not set up the right way.

Just heard a very interesting rumor that is linked to us.

In the last round of manager interviews Redknapp was given a 3 year contract by England, Redknapp insisted on making Terry captain upon being made manager. Bernstein denied this and said Harry could have him in squad but not as captain, Harry therefore pulled out the deal. Roy got the job, towed the line on Terry and took the job.

By this time Levy made his mind up on Harry for a few reasons so Harry finishing high and getting sacked may have been seen as a shock....it wasn't

if things got as far along as that old Redders would have been bent over holding his cheeks apart, not demanding things

Something I thought myself

But the guy who told me is proven muckers with Jamie and we get little tit bits that generally prove to be true.

Its not that big a deal either, not a lie worthy story if that makes sense
