*** Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine OMT ***

Chadli and Son versus Perez and Mitrovic. Not too much of a difference in quality, I think: but they made it count, we didn't. They wanted to win, we said 'sod it', and threw it away.

Truth be told, that was coming. We simply stopped competing, like we did against West Brom last week.
I think currently Saudi Sportswashing Machine sub's have more goals in them. Kane was brick today, mitrovic would have been a perfect sub. Also, Carroll would get nowhere near their midfield. I think he's a brick player. He has a frame like a 13 year old school girl combined with nothing special on the ball.

Absolutely unacceptable to lose that game. We were awful second half. Bad subs by Poch. Lloris made an uncharacteristically bad error. Dier was abysmal. Alli was poor. Eriksen was anonymous. Carroll was terrible and Kane did very little.

Today brings us down to earth and our young team will suffer bad results. Even at that, today was totally unacceptable.

Eriksen is crap every week. Don't know how he gets away with criticism. He needs to be dropped.

No proper strikers to bring on unlike them who changed their front two and that's what made the difference.

So disappointed but might shut a few people up who get carried away.

We are spurs. We will never do anything!

Let's put this in perspective a bit. We were all over then in the first half and should've been up by at least a couple. There was a bit of a drop off early in the second, but we were still going for that second goal to put it away, which was the right approach imo. It was inevitable that they would have a surge and they were more clinical than us. So I wouldn't call it a brick performance, but definitely should have closed it out. We need to work on winning these 1-0 games when we're up early and the other team is pushing for it.

I knew we'd regret not killing off the game in the first half but thought the worst that would happen would be a draw!

Missed Dembele' physical presence and composure today, Carroll too lightweight for PL and Alli not at his best today.

Bentaleb should've come on to try and sure up midfield plus Onomah ahead of Chadli.

For what it's worth. And this is just my opinion. We dropped three points today because of a lack of squad rotation. The team looked dead on their feet by the 70 minute mark.

I'm a big Pochettino fan, and I want him as our manager for years to come. But he needs to start using the squad more.
Not sure I agree, Kane, Eriksen, walker, rose, vertonghen did not play and Alli only played for about 1/2 hour on Thursday. It often happens when we drop players for a game bring them back and they don't perform its like we break our momentum.

True. If you'd rephrased your initial comment to say that they had more goals on their bench than we did, then you'd have had a very good point. Quality wise, we're probably better: but they have threats to bring off the bench, whereas our subs just look laboured as all hell.

If chadli would have squeezed 1 in up the other end it wouldn't have mattered. brick performance, these things happen.

Plenty of winnable games coming up and probably a much needed kick up the jaxie
Its annoying because it was obvious. We lacked the quality and legs to stop it. Frustrating. But there you go. We are spurs not Barcelona. Hence we fail to win football matches on a consistent basis.

I saw Son and Chadli. If you really think they are worse than what Saudi Sportswashing Machine had you are seriously deluded.
OK. The voice of authority has spoken. If anyone dare think mitrovic carries more goal threat than chadli you are deluded! You fudging arrogant taco.

We are not as good as we like to think we are.Sooner or later we were going to lose.Son doesn't quite look the player he was pre-injury.We have no plan b up front because we don't have any alternatives to Kane.Ericksen is also looking poor at the moment and i think alli is being overused. It ok they will learn not to believe the hype and the defeat really didn't cost us in terms of falling behind 4th.They have a week to rest so we will see what happens next week. There are no easy teams in the PL despite what it might look like you have to fight for 95mins every game.

At first we were getting Rose down the wing and Eriksen, Lamela, Alli, all getting in behind their right back and causing chaos... after a while we stopped this and were just pumping shoving pushing it down the centre. Frustrating.

It never will. It's embedded in our club. Gary Neville talked about how our mentality had changed this season: bullsh*t, we're the same as ever, just a bit more hard-working: but the same soft, spineless flowers that we've always been.

no, we've got a young team full of good players, highlighted by our current league position, and many recent performances. absolutely nothing to do with being spineless. we'll win some, we'll lose some. today we lost. some of the posts in here are embarrasing

Tbh, come on, who didnt see it coming once United lost last night. It's why when a select few people start talking about winning the title makes me smile. Yes we can dream, but thats exactly what it will always be.
A massive chance to go 4th, even higher come Boxing Day, but no, what happened is what happens most of the time, we mess it up. Only Spurs could lose 3 home games in consecutive seasons to Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

So frustrating at times. Possibly the unbeaten run was becoming a millstone round our neck instead of being a good thing. Lets see how they react next week.

Usually we can find a positive even after the poorest of performances, today I am struggling to find one

We've been awful for 3 games in a row now. Worrying. Rose, Dier, Carroll, Kane, Eriksen to an extent all poor recently.

Still can't believe he played Carroll.... Blows my fudging mind!

We were going for that second goal? Utterly useless long shots and the occasional pass lumped into Kane that came straight back at us?

If we were indeed going for the second goal, GHod help us if that's the way we go about getting it. Again, we saw lots and lots of possession turned over to the opponent, which, while a part of any direct attacking system, was brutally compounded by (again) our lads getting outfought, bullied and slowly squeezed into the last third of the pitch by a methodical opponent who simply brushed past our feeble attempts to stop them as the game wore on.

There are no positives today. None whatsoever. We lost, we probably deserved to lose, and we were outfought and comfortably contained by a side that routinely concedes five and six against better opponents.

This is on Poch, and on the team.
