*** Tottenham Hotspur v West Brom OMT ***

Half Full vs Half Empty. Half empty: draws we might have won go back to the Pool game. The Scum game, the chelsea game and this, you'd say we were the more likely team to win, yet we drew. Tbf west brom had many chances in this one but we led and let them back in.

The half full reality is we're 80% there. Solid defensively. Better in possession than most teams. But missing maturity to dominate when ahead, and the odd goal to seal games .

Levy and son get us another striker.

We were completely dominated in the second half - no exceptions, we were relentlessly poor. First was a bit of a better contest, but they steamrollered us in the second half, and we had no ideas, no energy, no strength, no creativity.

Positives - unbeaten run goes on, although the draws are becoming concerning. First half was decent, I guess: we put up a fight, and generally won half the second balls.

Negatives -
-were outplayed by West Brom of all teams
-were outrun, outfought and outthought, which is more surprising still.
-couldn't deal with the conditions at all well - I accept that they favoured Pulis (the bloody wind most of all), but that requires a skillful team to adapt, and it was clear we didn't. That fact was highlighted by Toby continuing to ignore the first ball and wait for the bounce on the second: the wind brought it down well for Rondon almost routinely, and Toby-Jan really struggled with that all game.
-Dembele gave away three dangerous free kicks with avoidable fouls, and generally looked slower than he's been recently.
-substitutions were wrong: Lamela played another great ball for Kane in the first half (chipped one that put him in), and was hustling well. Should have stayed on: Eriksen should've been the one to go for Son, since he was utterly anonymous.

Sigh. The consolation is that we won't have to come to this hellhole again. :p

GHod Kane was awful, why didn't we bring our back up striker on.... He does it most games, hold onto the ball in those areas for far too long when he has options. When he plays badly in every other aspect too it becomes even more annoying.

Our squad is painfully thin. Not enough quality. That bench is nowhere near good enough.

Good point all in, sign of a good team, play badly and don't lose.

A bitty game, we had some half chances, a good away performance against a well organized WBA back line. But we need to win more to break into the top 4 ! Onwards and upwards, COYS !!!

Outfought, outhought, overrun.
We didnt lose. Arse did up there, and Brom did all the same things to them. But WTF was it about the ref? Absolute disgrace. I know League One could be tough and the refs being blind in lower leagues, but...

Sounds like a poor performance? I haven't watched the game, just seen the result. Were we really that bad? Is it the first time this season we haven't been the better side?

Give me losses and wins over draw - from a pure mathmatical perspective they are costing us even though the run continues.

Tbf the scum lost here two weeks ago so they are a hard side but they were such an aggressive horrible side. They will be Stoke mark 2 very soon - terrible behaviour on and off the ball.

Also that ref was rubbish (one of the worst I've seen) - that was a real bad tackle and he wanted to play on until he saw the reaction of our players. He clearly didn't see it 5 yards away as that was a nasty leg breaking red card challenge if I ever saw one.

True, that was a positive. However...West Brom were dominated by Arsenal in that game, and rode their luck to emerge wih a win. We, on the other hand, were dominated by West Brom, and were probably lucky to emerge with a point. I expect this to be a learning experience for our side.

Luckily Dembele saw it coming and jumped so neither foot was planted, otherwise he'd have a broken leg. The ref was way too lenient all game... he wanted to let loads of things go so he didn't have to send someone off later on... I thought he had forgotten his cards at one point, just let all sorts of things go for both sides, mainly them.

We only got 1 offside, and that wasn't offside as Olsson was playing NJie on in the middle, he was clean through and should have sealed it.

As is so often the case, the refereeing decisions decide the game. TV replays please.

Wouldn't have backed him to score anyway.

We will lament that offside and Njie 1-1 with the keeper. His moment taken away unfairly. A point more than the scum got. But massively disappointing after leading and imo playing well.

Horrible game - we were poor they were half descent.

A good point actually.

Rondon was my MOTM

Dembele was good.

So many of our players were very average!

No tempo. Everyone took an extra three touches.
West Brom were happy to sit back at the start until they saw we were there for the taking and pressed us all the over the pitch.
Dier and Dembele were completely knocked out of their stride by Evans, Fletcher (both way more experienced) and Morrision.
This was the toughest game we've had this season maybe. A real physical battle. The London derbies where a stroll by comparison.
Once again Vertonghen and Alderweireld were bullied by a big mobile striker.
