OMT: Tottenham vs Emirates Marketing Project

I'm glad to see that Biblotelli got some punishment for this but it hardly benefits us. They can cope with this ban without a whole lot of distruption because of the talent they have in the forward line.

offside used to be very simple and clear cut

Yep very much so. I played sweeper or centre back for most of my footballing career and it was a simple shout of "OUT" to make sure the last man was the oppositions before the ball was played. Now I wouldn't where to begin!

I'm pretty sure Lennon had a foul throw on Sunday. I remember it because I felt shocked that a professional footballer could get the most basic thing in the game wrong. Webb obviously did nothing despite looking right at him. Their incompetence and inconsistencies are ruining enjoyment of games.

You're absolutely correct. I saw it too.

I saw it too and said to myself foul throw!

Here's the exact quote from Platt:
But I don't think anybody thought we would win an appeal with Vincent Kompany, even though the majority of people didn't feel he deserved a red card or a four-match ban. It shows the futility of an appeal sometimes. This looks poor when you slow it down.

He first tries to connect the Balotelli incident to the Kompany incident, perhaps trying to convince the fans that an appeal isn't worth it. Next, he then talks about the actual Balotelli incident and concedes that it "looks poor".
Everyone loves to play victim when the fingers are pointed at them. They must be so brainwashed into thinking they could do no wrong and that there is a media vendetta against them. They will never accept the facts, even after the assistant coach admits things might not be as rosy as they seem in that replay. At least we have the integrity to talk about our players and club honestly.

Are Emirates Marketing Project fans more deluded than Liverpool fans? Maybe they'll get there in a few years time.

So four games it is, then. Doesn't help us, unfortunately.

Another argument for video refereeing, surely. A ref with a video monitor (fifth official) would've seen the incident, contacted Webb, who said he didn't see it. Cue Webb running over to the sidelines to review the incident. Webb then gives red card based on video evidence. Case closed, and by now Parker would still be on the ground receiving treatment.

I don't see any reason why some sort of video refereeing shouldn't be introduced - at least at the highest level, where there is so much at stake.

Because it would interfere with match-fixing :)

Saw replays on SSN and was gonna say too harsh..but tbh once I saw the GIF on the first page..Man....this is pure evil and dirty...he should be suspended for the rest of the season to be honest...he is a menace on other players...imagine young fans/kids watching this...what impression is he giving there...

That's a hit on the head with bottom of the boot...pretty dangerous and even police should get involved..I hope Parker sues him

ESPN SoccerNet: Balotelli agent wants Webb banned

More like Balotelli ought to give Webb the meanest BJ he's ever had, for he actually should have been given a red card.

It is not an intentional foul because Mario doesn't want to hurt anyone, he didn't see Parker, that's all.
Umm... fudge off. If you're so sure it was unintentional, appeal the decision.

I think his agent is using this situation to make Mario the victim, again, and demand higher wages. What a bunch of insignificant, moany bricks.

Parkers agent should join the fray and state Balotelli ought to be banned for life. Playing like that it's just a matter of time until he seriously injures someone.

the rules of teh game need changing if proved that the player should have had a red card, then anything that player did afterwards shouldnt count i.e pen and goal

Football for me is so broken

The Football365 mailbox is full of people saying that Balotelli is just off balance and meant no intention. The main reason seems to be "Why would he want to stamp on Parker for no reason?" :D

macarons who have never played football, don't watch football enough and do not understand the psyche of the player involved. Tell them this. Emirates Marketing Project, a team under more pressure than anyone to win the title with their billions, are not only pegged back to 2-2 by a near rival, but are being bested. Kaboul, a strong player who has had a fine game, battles with Lescott, an average player who got lucky. Lescott, frustrated by the turn of events, takes an extra swing at Kaboul out of angry petulance and frustration. Gets away with it. Balotelli, already looking like he's in a weird mood, takes a shot he obviously feels was going somewhere, parker once again gets a block in, the frustrated and moody Balotelli has a mad tinkled off flash and as he falls takes a stamp out at Parker. Gets away with it.THAT'S the reason, pure and impel. They had been schooled by us despite a 2 goal lead, and their fragile, pressure-sodden egos couldn't fudging take it. Copy and repaste to the doubters...

Heard on radio Butch Wilkins says Webb bottled it, say it and decided to let it go!!!!!

This. He was not looking away, and between THREE officials, NONE of them was watching?

Absolute boo locks. As for balotelli being 'victimized' he's lucky that it was Luka Modric on the spot, a player who doesn't get in the face of refs, as otherwise justices would've been meted out on the spot.

I can only hope that his loss for four games contributes to them losing games...

This is astonoshing.... from Ballotelli's agent...

Mario Balotelli's agent has called for referee Howard Webb to be "banned for life" in the wake of the Football Association's decision to charge the Emirates Marketing Project striker with violent conduct.

Balotelli, 21, is set to be hit with a four-match suspension after appearing to stamp on midfielder Scott Parker during City's 3-2 Premier League win over Tottenham on Sunday.

Webb did not see the incident, but, having reviewed the footage of the challenge, the FA has responded by charging the Italy international with violent conduct.

Balotelli's agent, Mino Raiola, has been left furious with the decision, and has questioned Webb in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Radio.

He said: "The referee saw everything, because he spoke to Mario after the action. So in my opinion, this referee must be banned for life because he didn't tell the truth.

"The TV images show that he is really close to the action, how can he say he didn't see it? What was he doing? He says he didn't see it, only to defend himself."

Raiola also suggested Balotelli could seek a move away from England if he continues to feel persecuted against, adding: "Mario can't be banned for four games. He wasn't balanced and there was also a push from [Luka] Modric.

"It is not an intentional foul because Mario doesn't want to hurt anyone, he didn't see Parker, that's all.

"I want to be balanced but I'm worried because when English players are involved in more serious things, nothing happens, whereas when foreigners are involved, such as Balotelli or [Vincent] Kompany, they were treated harder.

"If I find that there is something strange against Balotelli, my duty is to protect and then take him away. In this case I would speak with City, I'd ask them Balotelli's price and would look for the best team for him, as there are only six or seven teams he can play for.

"I talked to Mario who said he is happy to stay in England, but he does not understand certain things and they sadden him."

Balotelli's agent has been mouthing off in the media today. Said Redknapp got him banned and criticised Howard Webb. He also said this may force Balotelli to move abroad. Go on then..... fudge off and go back to Italy or go to Spain where you will get monkey chants more often than not rather than staying in the arguably the best league in th world just because people have the nerve to have a go at him for doing things like stamping on players heads and throwing darts at people.

How people can he say was just "off balanced" is insane. I've been off balance plenty of times in my life, but I've never felt the need to stamp my foot on the ground to regain my balance.

i fail to understand, if this was a simple accident, surely any right minded person would immediately apologise. mb's first reaction was to look straight at the ref to see if he had been spotted.

Its clear he wants to go back to Italy so can use this an excuse to say he has to leave
...and didn't he leave Italy 'cos of the incessant Monkey chants and abuse he was getting (even from his own fans at one point)

GOOD! they fudging deserve each other... maybe he should fudging learn to put a bib on first, before he starts worrying about slinging accusations that Webb should be banned... which, if he saw it, he SHOULD... 'cos that makes him about as bent as it comes if he lets filthy rich Emirates Marketing Project get away with summit like that!

Either that, or Balotelli is one seriously unhinged motherfudger who clearly needs help, let alone a 4 game ban...
I hope someone stamps on HIS head sometime between now and the end of the season... maybe even take the clams' eye out... that'll do for starters, YOU DIRTY CHEATING FILTHY SCUM clam!

Lennon was off balance... so it's allowed... Balotelli was also clearly off balance in the run-up to the penalty, which is why he stuttered... which is why it was allowed...

...apparently, Fred West was also 'off balance' when he raped and murdered his own daughter, then buried her under the patio... but, sadly for 'Maverick Genius' Freddie West, Howard Webb isn't a Gloucestershire Judge... had he been, then no doubt Fred would be looking at parole, rather than having to hang himself to escape his own personal torture...

I wonder what personal torture goes through Mario Balotelli's head on a day-to-day basis???? clam!
