OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Leicester *** 22/08/2015 3pm

Only caught the second half of the game but aren't these factors:

Leicester an in form team.
Leicester at home
Leicester parking the bus
Hot day (for both)
Still early days and we've not got cover for Kane
We didn't lose
Was the ref a home in the first half?

I think they are all relevant.

occuring theme seems to be we have no answers to when an opponent sits deep and stifles us.

Do you really think so? I know perhaps we didn't appreciate Ledley, Lennon, Bale, Keane, Berbatov, Modric days, enough but damn, this team is a long way away from them. It lacks pace, movement, imagination but above all the inability to do simple things with quality, including making good decisions. It might be much to ask for the Glory-Glory mentality but we don't even have the push-and-run slickness. I suspect it isn't just Blanchflower turning in his grave but Arthur Rowe too.

I do, right now we can't afford players of that quality though, it's merely a step on the ladder, the flowing irresistible football comes later.

Leicester hardly 'parked the bus'. They had a clear penalty turned down and hit the post. It's not like they had men behind the ball for the 90 minutes.

Poch has said himself he plays wide! We've a centre back playing centre mid ffs do you honestly not see a problem with how pathetic our preparations have been this summer going into the new season?

I'm not disagreeing with you, it's been a cluster fudge all around.

But not to put a new forward player with pace on the bench is stupid, we are short of both -

Struggling to break a team down, he would have been something different

Leicester attacked plenty of times, its just when we got the ball back we didnt have the nous or speed to hurt them on the counter

i dont remember Schmeical having to make a save

our possession was mainly Verts to Toby, to Walker, to Dembele, to Toby, to Verts, to Davies, back to Mason, to Verts, to Toby, over to Walker, tucked inside to Dembele and on and on and on. Im not joking either

ok fair enough. Well yes thats a bit worrying and I can see why people are comparing it to the AVB days.

Still some opinions on here are so strong you would have thought we had lost 5-0

It seemed like it based on posts here (as I say, I missed the first half and some of the second)

Dembele had a shot in the first half that Schmeichel saved.

It was never a penalty.

Lloris had their shot that hit the post covered.

Maybe not parked the bus but no shots on target and +-35% possession at home for the first 80 minutes is hardly adventurous free flowing cavalier football. Not convinced it was a clear penalty either.

Back in the room after the match. Gutted we just had that one lapse of concentration after the goal. For me a draw was the minimum we deserved. Better performance today for me, just missing that killer finish.
Considering we had Rowan Atkinson as ref, because believe me his performance today was comical, we did well.
Ali has to start next weekend offers far more than Lamela.

Great support from the away fans, once again.

What game u watching ? Are u serious lol ... A blatant peno went thru player , totally silly challenge right on half time .. A lazy performance by vert all round .. Dembele shot comfortable enough save .. And brick that hit post has Lloris beaten .. Got very lucky .. Ball should never have gone off post and angle should have been covered . Silly post ..if ever Spurs glasses on .. It was woeful harmless performance all round . IMvho Leicester deserved points .. We nicked s goal with ten mins left ... A proper n good team would have saw it out .. We were blatantly jammy to nick a point after it .. Constant free kicks at all angles of box given away after we scored , they had glorious chance with header that if anywhere but down centre of goal wud have been deserved winner for them ... Baffles me what people see about Spurs .. Harmless to the core .. No wonder the top players fudge off after few seasons .. That's all I say

The Leicester had a hold of Vertonghen's shirt long before the tackle. He even got a touch on the ball, but that's irrelevant really.

The point was that Schmeichel did indeed have to make a save. In the first half Lloris didn't.

Baffles me how Spurs supporters can not see anything remotely positive about the club and the side.
