Just watched highlights to recap.. Have to say; how awesome was Poch's reaction to Gomis collapsing!? He showed genuine concern and hurried our medical staff onto the pitch as quickly as he could. Outstanding. Many managers out there could take a lesson from our humble leader. Love the man.

Sherwood won 42 from a possible 66 points (63.64%)
But if Spurs do win their remaining 11 matches, Pochettino would have won 80 from a possible 114 points (70.18%).
Of course, Spurs will inevitably drop some points before the season is over but if we end-up with 73 points or more it would set a new club record and surpass Sherwood's performance.

I'm not sure its an 'either or' scenario. We will need to become more versatile than that. If we have Top 4 aspirations we are going to need to win some games 1-0, maybe a bunch of them, home and away, when we need to. With basically one effective striker (Kane) in our ranks its a big ask to expect to score 2-3 goals every game because of our 'system' or to compensate for defensive frailties.

Well in one way he is right as we had 53pts this time last year, although that was after playing 28 games which is one more than we've played so far this season.

Just watching MotD and I've calmed down a bit with the "typical Spurs hanging on" rhetoric.
Cheatski were very lucky against Wet Spam, a very open game.
City fouled Leicester twice in the box, 2 clear penalties, neither given against them!
Utd clearly fouled Saudi Sportswashing Machine in the box, not given.
Referees and linesman are deciding games too much at the moment, it is so unfair that Leicester didn't get 2 penalties and that Saudi Sportswashing Machine ended up losing.
PS - surely Cisse and Evans will get bans now for kicking and gobbing at each other.

This was a much-needed win. After being winless in 5 matches, we badly needed to win this match. Really glad we did. This win will go a long way in helping us forget about the League Cup final defeat. But wish we had finished this match more comfortably instead of being put under pressure late on. Really disappointing that we are still struggling to kill games off despite scoring 2 or 3 goals. It almost cost us dearly as they could have get the equalizer in injury time.
Credit to Chadli, Mason and Townsend for scoring the goals and Rose, Eriksen and Bentaleb for getting the assists. But a bit disappointed Kane couldn't continue his goal scoring run in the league. Nowadays, it does feel strange when Kane or Eriksen don't score. Thought all our 3 goals were well-taken goals. Nice to see Chadli getting back his goal scoring touch. It was a brilliant first-time volley by Chadli to score the goal. It was difficult to score direct from the cross but Chadli managed to do it. It was an inch perfect cross by Rose for that goal.
Mason did well to score his first goal in the league. It was a brilliant skill and run by Eriksen to set up the goal for Mason. It was a welcome change to see Mason scoring after wasting many crucial chances earlier in the season. Townsend also scored a brilliant individual goal. That was his first league goal from open play this season. He was a bit fortunate with the goal as his intended pass was deflected back to him to score. Townsend needs to contribute more like this if he wants to stay with us long term.
Really annoyed with our defending for both their goals. The Swansea player ran almost unchallenged to score their first goal. Vertonghen should have done better to stop him having that shot. But Lloris was also at fault for getting beaten from a difficult angle like that. Our entire defence went to sleep for their 2nd goal as Sigurdsson had all the time in the world to score that goal. But credit to Lloris for making that world class safe in injury time to get us the win. Pochettino really should concentrate on improving our defending next season.

Remember the points percentages won't be comparable, as it was 2 points for a win up till the late 80s.
Win percentage is more comparable, but even then the league was historically less skewed (i.e. the gap in quality between top and bottom was much smaller)
I think we'll finish ahead of Southampton. And even 7th might be a EL place depending who wins the FA cup.

I did watch the game already knowing the result as I couldn't watch it live. But I thought we were very good almost throughout the game. Great effort from the players.
It's not like we didn't try to score more after getting the 3-1 goal, and it's not like we conceded a lot of chances to them at 3-1. They put in a quick winger who got a cross in, some less than stellar marking and 3-2. I think that kind of thing happens to most teams. I think the team deserves credit for getting 3-1 and thus making sure that a late goal for Swansea wasn't decisive.

So glad to see Mason get his first Premier League goal yesterday. Thought he did really well yesterday, as did the rest of the team (for most of the match, anyway). Also glad to see Townsend finally score from open play, obviously, great goal too! It was bizarre to see how we had to hang on to the lead at the end, looked ever so comfortable at 3-1 up.
Overall a very positive game, I thought, although I somewhat expected it to be, seeing as Swansea actually come to play football.

That's it. Ultimately, we won and deserved to win as we were comfortably the better of the two sides. Ultimately, we dominated that match pretty much from start to finish, particularly in the 2nd half, we barely gave them a whimper up until 89th minute. Just shows how quickly football's gods can turn, but we have Lloris and that isn't luck, it's called having a world-class keeper. Always annoying when people said we were lucky because Lloris made some outstanding saves. It's not luck!
