Kyle Walker

Was impressed with the way he slotted in to the team last night, considering it was his first game under Poch and he's been injured for 9 months it was very encouraging.

Hopefully him and Rose pushing up as they did will provide some of the much fabled width i keep hearing about

would prefer to start with naughton next game if he is fit, and walker to come in as a sub, to allow him a gradual reintroduction to reduce a chance of an injury (doesn't have to be the same one that kept him out).

Agreed. Naughton has been pretty good this season, I'd gradually bring Walker into the team, perhaps even a start in the quarter finals on Wednesday.

Such a key component to helping Pochettino achieve what he wants here. Full backs are massive in Poch's role. He will stretch the pitch. Yedlin will be a fantastic rival for the same spot I think.

Davies is a bit more solid and less inclined to bomb forward, but he has put some nice deliveries in from that left flank. But I like Rose and Davies as options

---------------------Lloris----------------------

------------Fazio-------Vertonghen--------------

Walker-------Mason------Bentaleb--------Davies

----Lamela-------Kane-----------Eriksen-----

-------------------Soldado---------------------

Would be good to see this. There wouldn't be such a need for Lennon as Walker could provide the width freeing Lamela to come inside as he likes to do.

Surprised no posts on Walker's first premier game...

Looks a hell rusty but what would you expect after all this time out. However he gave us a balance that neither Dyer and Chiriches - or even Naughton - are able to provide.

Made mistakes but to see him take on his opponent for speed - and win - in the 80th minute was brilliant and is a testament to his physical strength and natural stamina.

WELCOME BACK KYLE!!

great to have him back and get some natural width. He has his faults but there's not many better RBs in the PL. One of the half dozen or so players we should build a team around (along with Lloris, Verts, Bentaleb, Eriksen and Kane)

Spot on. Started a little shaky but instead of tiring towards the end he actually looked like he was getting stronger and could have done another 45mins.
It's a cliche. but feels like a new signing

I actually think he was solid. At least defensively. To do 90 min and perform well is very impressive considering he has been out for 9 months. Great to have a good fullback again :)

He was beautiful tonight, amazing work ethic, power and pace. What a play we have on our hands. Imagine if we'd just signed this beast. Pure class

Mmm. Was annoyed with his early booking as it seemed entirely avoidable, inasmuch as he could clearly have decided not to act in such a way at that point. Little need for it.

Physically looked in really good shape and did do well at times but still a ****ing idiot unfortunately. I have to tell my 4 year old nephew to not touch the ball with his hand whilst in play, but Walker's all grown up.

we looked so much better with Walker there and its his first match in 9 months. can't wait for him to get fully match fit, we will be much stronger!

Pretty standard thinks he's getting a free kick and grabs the ball. Had he just gone down and not grabbed the goal I think a proper counter attack was on for Swansea. Taking the yellow in a situation like that as early in the game as that might not be clear cut and obviously the best choice, but it's also not idiotic.

You should probably wait until your nephew turns 7 or 8 before explaining the concept of taking cynical yellows to stop counter attacks to him though.

He did well yesterday but he looked like he has lost a little pace. Hopefully, it is just part of finding his way back after a long time out.

He looked rusty but I didnt think he had lost any pace. Montero couldnt beat him for pace and he is rapid....

Montero has been absolutely gassing fullbacks this year and Walker showed him the line every time and kept on matching him stride for stride. If that is him in his second game back then by Jan he should be flying.
