New mobile

I yearn for the day when I can have a Nokia Lumia 1020 on Android. I will wet my pants. I'm in love with the phone but cannot get on with Windows Mobile

A really good phone but I'd say buy a Nexus 5 and go SIM only and save yourself a good 50%. I'm on an unlimited data deal on 3 for £14 a month.

The Nexus range are excellent - especially if you're paying for your own. My only phone's a business phone so I like the extra quality the HTC has, and the price isn't really all that relevant.

When a contract comes to an end does it just go onto a rolling month by month contract?

HTC m8 is a really nice phone. Sound quality is amazing. Can't go wrong with a Nexus. If you want a cheaper option then the moto g is incredible value for money.

I've just ordered the 6, can't tell you anything about it as I've not got it yet, love my 5s though and it's gonna be a marginal upgrade at least

I got the HTC (not m8) when it first came out last August, was a pretty big jump for me seeing as I loved Blackberrys and had them for about eight years. I gotta say its a great phone, it has its deficiencies, battery life is abysmal - its sub standard for the 80% which could last about 12 hours then the last 20% drains in about ten seconds.

Sound and videos itself is great and it looks great. Dont regret it. I do hate phones though not allowing us access to the battery so you can carry a spare just in case - given that the battery life is ****ing ****e

Moto G and a sim only contract, cheapest phone deal I could find and I'm very happy with it. Doing that maths, a 2 year contract at £30/month works out at £720, that's just crazy money.

Moto G cost me £90 and I get the same plan for £10/month on a rolling deal, saves me over £400 over 2 years. Don't think I'll ever go back to long contracts with "free" phones.

Agree, I still use my Galaxy S2.. as good as the 5s as far as I'm concerned.. unless your a bionic man and certain micro upgrades are noticeable.

IMO more important to have umlimited internet than a new phone IMO.

The only reason I will change phone is because mine is 3G only and would involve significant upgrade. But I am still getting by with 3G.

I think the best plan is also to miss out a number if your going to upgrade.. So for me I should upgrade on the S4.. IMO its a sensible way of getting most out of your current phone. People shouldn't upgrade every 12 months, if they did prices would come down.

I agree. I bought a Nexus 5 and have it on a SIM only deal with unlimited data. Not having to worry about data usage has changed the way I use my phone and I get a lot more out of it.

Agreed.

I would love something like the new Iphone 6 but is really worth it? Some people don't realise their phone is on credit in the same way the odd porper's new TV/laptop is.

Had a look at the Samsung Alpha, seems like the galaxys but in a different case, getting to the point whereby all smart phones look the same to me.

I bought my Nexus 4 outright for £200 shortly after the nexus 5 was announced. I'm on the £10/month giffgaff option.

I'm happy as larry. Cannot understand why anyone would want/need to pay more for a phone.

When I break or lose my nexus 4 it's likely that I'll get a moto g as you just don't need anything more expensive.

My 4's power button is starting to play up :( so if it dies totally then I'd have to look at the OnePlusOne tbh, but it is invite only :'(

*strategically placed hint if anyone has an invite :D

Is this a new webcam site where a sexy phone tries to draw you in with promises of unparralleled delights that no other can offer, every time you press a button it costs you £1... you get a token sound of thanks from the model.. and an eye appears on the screen and produces a tear because now it can afford the app flappybirds

I have a nexus 5 and, camera issue aside, its really good.

Great design, well built, fast and most importantly..... Good battery life with moderate-high daily use
