Big news at the lane just announced on twitter !!!!

As posted before the lane being an enjoyable place to go again is huge this year, frankly its been a chore the past 2 seasons
I have struggled to get in to it. I think alot of that has to do with the champions league season and how we haven't followed up. When fans become accustomed to success it impacts the atmosphere massively.

That's why less successful clubs fans are still loud and supportive when they aren't doing well. They are used to it.

The drum is good though. It will get people hyped.

Agreed.

Interesting though that it is for Europa games. Not sure it is really needed as 1882 usually generate decent atmosphere for those matches. It is Premier League games that are morgue-like & where the help is required.

I wonder if there are any conditions attached to it's reintroduction in relation to what chants are allowed.

I've been to Hillsborough before (Wednesday were the first to do it in this country and their guy became the England one) and a drummer can have a really positive effect.

Maybe strange that they are trialling it in UEFA cup games, as the atmosphere at them is already much better than for the league.

It would be good to see a concerted effort this season to try and recapture the spirit of the King testimonial - I've never known anything like that. WHL for league games has been dire since the Jol days.

I was going to stop with the cup guarantee scheme but with the 1882 movement and now the drum, I fancy these could be good fun nights at the Lane and they are not exactly expensive nights either
