I had literally never been more sure of a thrashing than before this game. Even when we were utter ****, I sometimes held our hope that we could win/ scrape a draw/ have at least some defensive solidity and come away with a narrow loss.
I really really wish the players could have proved me wrong.

I think it starts when you want a winger for a left back as against the weaker teams often that is what you need. Against the bigger teams, poor old left winger/full back gives it a go and gets found out. Maybe time to celebrate a defender actually defending other than how he beats a full back.
