Big Issue..

As I have the right to express my disgust at the poison he spouts.

Roy wanted to hit a self employed homeless person who he felt sure he must be begging, not based on any evidence but on his ignorance of what the Big Issue stands for, he then decides that the guy must be a benefit fraudster because he has access to banking. Link that to his statements that anybody who is not white anglo-saxon can be referred to as Johnny Foreigner, his ignorance of the origin of the word MOBO despite declaring the awards racist in the sexcetera thread and he has drawn a pretty neat pen picture of himself. Even the references in the original post to "Massive black security guard" shows his obsession with race and his insecurities.

His original post was not a plea for controlled immigration or tighter benefit controls, it was spewing bile and I stand by my original comment, I have the freedom to unless the mods decide otherwise. At least my views are based on what the guy has told me about himself rather than a cursory summing up of someone in Tesco's car park based on their skin colour.

Those are my final thoughts on this matter.:gav:

Thank you for posting this. I read the first post in the thread and actually felt a bit sick that someone with such disgusting views actually exists, so started thinking about how to even start replying to it. But then I read this and you've summed it up very nicely, so I don't need to go through the effort of replying to the bigot!

This reminds me of Christmas at my last job, for the last few years I would send an email wishing everyone in the department a Happy Christmas and that instead of giving cards I would make a donation to Shelter, don't care much for cards, wasting trees etc.

Several people replied (or told me direct) that they objected to me giving my own money to Shelter as they did not agree with giving 'scum' money, at Christmas, in the freezing, wet, cold, damp conditions.

I just can't get my head around feeling that way.

But yeah Gifter that is just surreal. What is it to anyone else what you do with your money. I cant believe people would be offended by the prospect.

(btw i hate twitter. i dont go on it at all yet keep thinking of finishing every sentence with #(insert whatever here)- my mind has been corrupted)

I brought a copy of the Big Issue today - a totally brick read hell even Joey Barton 'wrote' an article in it on the social health bill. TWO POUND FIFTY fudgeIN PENCE

Anyways I brought it on the advice of the person/people on here. It was good to help though and he was ecstatic and so thankful. So it is worth it to put a smile on some guys face. But was it for me? Or for him? I spose for him but always feels good helpin someone.

I've bought around 10 or so in my life time. Not my thing really but the reaction and gratitude you get from the guy selling it is worth it alone.

So Roy actually did a good deed by criticising this seller, and its gonna result in Glory-Glory-ers buying Big Issues!

Well done Roy

I'm not buying one unless the guy selling is a foreigner going by the name of Johny.

Taking a step back cos you are so far from the truth It actually is laughable. Forget the fact I wanted to knock him out. Forget the fact I called him a big black security guard (he is black what did you want me to call him?!?!?!?!)

I know english people are just as guilty of this so don't go down that road!!

A security guard? Would you have called him a huge white security guard?

You see Roy, you keep on mentioning this, once someone inevitably replies with this point on yet another one of your threads about blacks/johnny foreigner. Yet you never start a thread about them? Or about the positive impact of immigrants?

It would be a shame if you did, becuse you are not part of the problem that the country has.

This country has to stop believing that it is a world superpower, and start to accepth that it needs to tighten its belt and look after itself first. Families like you and yours are not part of the problem, but more likely part of the solution, but amongst the great many problems of profligate waste (Steffs example is more of a global example, but it a case in point in the UK) we have a situation of rubbing salt into the wound by filling an overly populated island with people who come here to take advantage of the fact that we have an extremely gullible benefits system. No-one in their right mind believes it to be the only problem we have, but its certainly one of the more readily solveable ones.

With all due respect Mick, a lot of people don't differentiate.

This may surprise you but I was once one of those who had to take refuge in the country, who was able to accept the hand of Britain's hospitality and generosity. I dragged myself up, got educated and contributed, along with my wife, a large amount to this country, both in terms of public services and the huge amount of tax we were both obliged to pay. And I was always more than happy to do so, such was my happiness at what this country had done and my appreciation of what people can go through. I've always found it very strange that people in Britain can be so proud of their military, their universities, their football teams etc but not their welfare system and their tolerance. That for me is one of the greatest things about this country.

Does Britain have a problem with immigration? Yes. Does it need to be controlled? Yes. But whenever this discussion comes up now, it has become the fashionable thing to inflate the problem. Use inflammatory language, while ignoring the very real benefits of immigration. And while there are certainly people who come to the country with the intention of ripping the state off, I volunteer in a refugee centre still and the lucky ones live on 35 quid a week. The sensationalist stories we hear are not the norm.

I'm not quoting any sensationalist stories am I?

I'm talking numbers, and the vast amount who have squirrelled their way in and are now lost in the system.

I'm sorry if it seems to be contrary to your experience, but we need to take care of our own backyard, before curing the worlds ills (India actually tried to give our aid back, and we insisted they kept it - explain that pearl of wisdom to me!) And that means you, and your children now (assuming you stay - and I hope you do)

You and your family are everything that is right about the system and how it should work, but we have a social issue with illegal immigration which needs to be rectified, and trust me - I don't care about the colour of anyones skin, or their religion - I just want the country to stop being the worlds refuge, after the US.

I also want us to stop this free movement brick in the EU, which is having a similar damaging effect, not because I'm a xenophobe, or a supremacist or a racist, but just simply because I want the people that have a right to be here, to have an opportunity to work, live thrive and survive and plant a platform for their own offspring and family.

If we all walk round and give a fiver to every big issue seller, and every chugger, we end up with a great feeling of bonhomie, and no money to feed our own family with - so we don't. I just want the tacos running my country to take a similar stand.

And I would have no issue with any country taking the same view on Brits in their community. Including where I am now.

I think gordinho maybe you need to do what steff is telling me. Taking a step back cos you are so far from the truth It actually is laughable. Forget the fact I wanted to knock him out. Forget the fact I called him a big black security guard (he is black what did you want me to call him?!?!?!?!)

As mick has mentioned the main point of my argument is foreign people living in this country without working or contributing to society. I know english people are just as guilty of this so don't go down that road!! As a country we are so fudged up financially it is untrue and a massive, massive reason for this is because we have opened the floodgates and let all sorts into the country, bent over and let them claim just about anything they can. That is a fact. And for the record NO I do NOT think it is ALL of them as I know some very hard working foreign chaps.

You still haven't answered why you wanted to knock him out? Further you still haven't said why you referred to him as a JF? Without talking to the man, the truth is mate you cannot comment on him, yet what you're effectively saying is that his presence unleashed a whole torrent of frustrations at a group of things you then decided to associate with him because of his circumstance/appearance. You know nothing about him, yet you're using him as a spacegoat. That, my friend, is the road to ugliness beyond that which any of us can imagine...

=D>

That is begging I guess. I'm happy to pay for it and let the seller keep it if I know I'm not going to get a chance to read it but it should be our decision to make and not suggested by them.

The thing I hate about myself is that one Christmas Eve a year or two ago when snow was falling in Luton I bought a Big Issue, paid with a fiver and stood waiting for the change. When I think about the money we all blow over Christmas time I could and should have told her to keep the change, admittedly my mind was on a million different things as it often is at that time of year so it was intentional but it wasn't my finest moment either.

I am willing to bet your finer moments out-weigh your not-so-fine moments by some stretch mate...

Can we all agree just to buy the Big Issue and start a fad? I think that is the way forward.

The GG Big Issue Drive. Could be famous n brick.
