Can well believe that. He is tidy and industrious but not much more. Too intent on ****ing about on Spurs TV than improving his game. There's likely to be a couple of mil profit in it too so Levy won't even think twice.

Lamela on the other hand, well there's no way Levy will be taking a £30mil bath on him.

Capoue is a strange one because I thought he showed a lot of promise early on before his injury. Perhaps Timmy really is a goon double agent after all.

What a shambles though.

I don't think that's fair at all. How he spends his free time is up to him and I don't believe for a second he's missing training to film web shorts. These guys are physical specimens and they didn't get there overnight. I think you owe him a little more respect than that.

I'll give him respect when he does well on the pitch, not for anything else.


He hasn't earned any respect from what (little, admittedly) we've seen.



Perhaps he might have been wiser spending his free time on additional training so he didn't lose his man so easily, for example.

Compare and contrast Holtby's continuous appearances on Spurs TV with Sherwood's comments about Bentaleb's extra efforts on the training pitch.

For Holtby, you have Siggy and Eriksen who can play similar role. Eriksen is the better player, Siggy is more proven in the prem and maybe more willing to be a squady.

For Capoue, you have Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho who can play similar role (add Bentalab as well). Sandro and Dembele are prem proven, Paulinho has big wraps and Bentalab is a young'un.

They are just the excess which can be trimmed most easily.

We don't need them. The club and the players are both better off if they go elsewhere, in my opinion.
 
So are we saying Sherwoods comments in the press last week regarding Lamela were the groundwork for the eventual summer sale "he's homesick story"? TS is making the right noises right now, but if he can't see a decent player there then I can't understand his "good player" criteria. Maybe the lad has a bad attitude but he's having English lessons every day apparently so I can't believe that. The player has been mis handled from the start and if Sherwood won't give him a chance then I'd understand if the kid p****d off in the summer.

He openly admitted that he didnt know anything about Capoue so didn't play him.

He said he "knows Bentaleb better". There is a massive difference.

Don't try and argue the Sherwood haters will blame him for anything including WW1 and WW2 regardless of the truth. I still hold that Sherwood knows enough about the players to know who he wants and doesn't want and has no requirement for all the armchair-Mourinhos on here to help him make a decision.

I wonder whether he just thinks that Bentaleb is a better player than Capoue?.... From what I've seen of the two of them in a Spurs shirt I'd probably agree with him. Certainly in the fact that I think Bentaleb has a higher ceiling in terms of potential than Capoue anyway.
 
It'd be nice, once in a while, to have a peek at The Badgers Hole and not have to cope with all this festering feuding. Not much ITK amongst all this internet swordsmanship. Why not take opinionated debate about particular players' qualities out onto a more appropriate thread?

Normally I would agree, but this January is different. With a WC looming you will have some good players who have fallen out of favour looking to initiate moves to save their WC squad status. Whether any of these players meet our requirements is another thing though.
