The reason the team is playing brick is Harry came up with a formation to try and fit Defoe in after the goals he scored during the week.
Defoe would need to do more than work hard, he need to show why he worth upsetting our whole formation to fit him in.

I know it's been 4-4-2 but I wrote it in the formation is SEEMS like we're playing, you have Sandro/Parker then you seem to have Modric, then you seem to have Bale, it's strange and a complete clusterfudge

thankyou for being one of the few to notice this. Ade is getting a pass everygame and i couldn't tell you why. He can't finish to save his life. Defoe should stay on. Bring on VdV for Ade if anyone, and maybe even Kranjcar for Sandro.

Nobody is looking for the ball when we pick up possession, and we go long only for Heitinga and co to easily mop up. We are fast becoming incredibly predictable right now.

Harry has to be proactive here.

Get Modric in the middle please! Van der Vaart on for Defoe. If Ade continues to play like brick then get Saha on. Start competing better, reacting quicker, and start WANTING the ball. fudging bottling it big time right now.

Oh yeah i also remember everyone not giving a fudge about Pienaar going and stating that it didn't matter as he was brick. Now we're playing Gareth Bale and Niko Kranjcar on the right. fudge me man what a nightmare.

In ordinary times, I'd find it funny that one man (lennon) who most people thought would lose his position to Hazard when he came in, is causing us so much grief by his absence. But these are not ordinary times. These are CRISIS TIMES, and bold decisions are needed to end them. Rafa on, please. It has been a failure so far, but there's still hope if we make the right decisions, hope that we can claw our way out of these CRISIS TIMES.
 
Sandro is the only one competing out there. It looks like we just dont want this enough. I can't take watching us when we dont look like we are giving it our all. Not even 1 decent effort at goal.

Such a sloppy goal to concede yet again. Really need looking at we do in defence recently. We have turned to brick in that respect.
 
Thing is the problem with balance has been talked about for a long time. fine when we can go with Ade, VDV, Lennon, Bale, Modric, Parker etc it worked brilliantly, but now with just two injuries we look so poor. And grinding out results requires good defending....

Precisely. Absolutely Shoddy. This is more unforgivable. Not even a hint of a top team when you defend like you do against Arsenal, United and now today. Shocking. They need a real dressing down as a team.
 
But I would not be taking Defoe off. He can at least strike a ball which is looking like the only way we might challenge at the moment. Ade has been extremely poor today, very disappointing. Upside is we surely cannot play any worse. Still think we can get a result here.
