Think it might have been before the Man C game, certainly in the last month. Problem with that team is that we have so many wide men/mobile forwards (Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Lamela, Eriksen etc) and there's only room for one of them
I'd play Lennon rwb in that formation ahead of walker

Sort of.

Was more a 4-5-1-0. Due to injuries Totti played furthest forward of the midfielders, but I wouldn't really classify him as the lone striker. Roma were a very exciting team under Spalletti and like I mentioned earlier in this thread, were one of the best teams of the last decade along with Barcelona, especially to watch.

I agree about de Boer. Don't know much about Favre however is he much different to a foreign Redknapp? Managed unfashionable teams (like Harry) then moved to a bigger team (like Harry at Spurs) when they were bottom of the league (like Harry at Spurs) and got them into the CL (like Harry) and plays attacking football (like Harry). I have only spent about 60 seconds reading about him though!

He also got Hertha Berlin to a 4th placed finish in 2008-2009, an even more unlikely feat. They were actually in the title race until the last few games, so that was arguably more impressive than his subsequent Gladbach successes.

Well, in terms of the differences between him and 'Arry, he's younger for one (56). He's also apparently 'studious and soft-spoken', and he bases his attacking teams around tactical discipline and organization, which would contrast with Redknapp's car-window antics and more laid-back approach. Most importantly, Favre has a track record of promoting and extensively working with and improving youth players, with the likes of Herrmann, Reus and Kruse all flowering under his watch.

If there is a criticism of Favre it is that he is too rigid in his team selection, choosing the same players and the same set of formations (two or three that he tends to stick to) over the course of the whole season. But there's no doubt he's a very talented, and very underrated manager.

Im liking the idea of Spaletti

BUT

does he speak English?

Is he a bit of a Di Canio i.e. a hot head?

I like Di Canio personally but not ready at all yet.

We only have 2 English players in our first team. Does he speak Portugese, Spanish, French, Dutch or Flemish is as equally as valid a question.

I can't believe people genuinely want hoddle, he is madder than a box of frogs and his club record is worse than gig likes of keane

Why don't you think de Boer would accept? Is there much more that he can achieve at Ajax? 3 consecutive titles....they'll never be able to keep hold of good enough players to do more than that. I cant see that he has anything else to prove....unless he has no ambition, in which case I wouldn't want him at Spurs

Fair point. Maybe he would accept, but he turned down Liverpool on the basis that he was still evolving as a coach. And of course that Ajax connection is deep for him. But maybe you're right, maybe he would come.

haha true. Most of them speak English anyways with exception of Lamela and Soldado as far as I can tell. If he is someone who can manage and coach our players to realise their potential in playing some good effective exciting football - then im all for it.

We laughed at Liverpool when they reappointed Dalglish and that is how fans of other clubs would view us if we gave the job to Hoddle. He may love this club and GHod, I loved him as a player but it would be putting sentiment over sense.

Let's just give the fcker another chance, even if it is a somewhat unrealistic hope i just love the thought of him doing well here and it all working out, if he does screw it up then we'll just replace him in the summer when there will be many more options available to us, especially after the World Cup. Perhaps i'm wrong but i can't see many top managers leaving their posts at this stage in the season.
