Transfer Rumour Thread

I would love it just love it if we got my hero Walcott.

He could replace Lennon, atleast we would be guaranteed a few extra goals.

According to a report in spanish newspaper SPORT, Giovani is considering "buying" out the final year of his contract.

This is possible, because he is no longer tied to the protection period of 3 years from the time, when he signed the contract.

He will have to pay 3 million Euros to Spurs to do that.

Thought Webster was only for 28 and over or some such, plus there was an agreement between clubs not to exploit it?

Though to be fair he has a decent case of not being wanted by us.

I remember when Arshavin, Chamakh and Mertesacker were each individually going to be massive and were massive steals from other leagues.

Was this according to Arsenal fans? I always thought that Mertesacker would be a failure for them. Mertesacker is slow, even for centre backs, and so gets caught out in the Premiership as the games are often quick paced. If Mertesacker were to play in a foreign league, with slower paced games, he would look a lot better as otherwise he has decent defensive attributes, just not suited to the Premiership.

'Krul is now signed up until the summer of 2017, with the Dutch international one of the most sought-after young keepers in Europe.'

Krul has an extension, i know there were several people around here that wanted to see him at our club, looks like the price has gone up.

Krul will be expensive now, probably too expensive considering our other transfer targets.
Hope we'll take a closer look at Sommer in the summer,
Yann Sommer - was very impressive for Basel in the Champions League earlier.

Not a favourite of mine, but Tim Howard is another that could be a target for us.
Out of contract in the summer, and Friedel will know him well

Why have Everton let his contract run down like that?? Got another 4 years at least in him?

Drenthe scored again today and played well apparently.

I said it in another thread but he is on a free at the end of the season, he would be perfect on the left as a squad player to fill in behind bale we could get rid of dos santos and krancjar(to slow for our game) and use that money in other areas while having a good quality replacement in drenthe.

Im sure he will be next seasons demba ba. Lovely player is drenthe and i enjoy watching him play he is really settling into english football nicely.

I like howard a lot would be a good signing weird they let it get down to a bosman.

He gets lots of banter with the Park Lane already. Lots of Yeeee-haaa, fudgeity fudge, yee haaaa whenever he's around. Would be great week in week out

Tim Howard has signed a new contract until 2016 at Everton.

Robbie Fowler has apparently turned down a ?ú90 a week offer from Blackpool.

To be fair, when you've previously earned ?ú30,000 a week and have an extensive property portfolio as a consequence of soundly investing your high earnings, you're probably not going to be tempted by a ?ú90 a week offer. ;)

I think it was just a basic salary + a pay as you play top up of some sort, maybe an annual leave ticket back to Liverpool thrown in.
