O/T AVB Sacked by Cheatski

Chelsea needs a temporary manager who can shift out the old guard and not give a monkeys about any flak he gets as result. As he is only there temporarily and for that purpose. Maybe that is what they are going to use di Matteo for. In the meantime Chelsea might take a hit and drift down the table a bit, but as soon as the old guard are sorted out, a new manager will come in to rebuild with lots of money.

Spurs need a man manager first and tactitician second (both if we can get -but that is very rare) as I imagine getting the best out of the players in our squad and keping them all happy is quite a difficult task, and one that Harry (for any of his faults) is very good at. AVB doesn't appear to have been very good at that at Chelsea -and I'm sure it would be the same at Spurs.

So you don't want AVB, and you don't want Lambert, Rodgers or Coyle. Admirable indeed. But I assume you also recognize that Guardiola and Mourinho might be a shade too ambitious for us, in which case you fall into the 'David Moyes' category. Am I right? I hope I'm not, because you seem like an erudite person ,and I cannot imagine how someone like that would prefer Moyes.

This for me is the key point. If Harry leaves and we can't sign Mourinho there is no clear first choice option.

Guardiola is highly unlikely. If he doesn't sign on for another year with Barca I think it's likely he will take some time away from management. He has said that the main reason he's unsure about staying with Barca is because of the constant pressure. Less pressure in most other jobs in football, but it still sounds like he would like a break before his next job.

Mourinho is possible, although not very likely. We should try.

After that there's a bunch of pretty close choices, AVB should be one of the names on the list imo. He has his flaws/uncertainties, but so do all the other names mentioned. Essentially no one stands out and every single one of the names mentioned has at least one rather doubtful looking question mark next to them.

Although, I don't think Levy will go for AVB. Not like him to go for someone who just failed elsewhere, he seems to go for people who were successful in their previous job.

I think Abramovich will go for Mourinho purely to stop us getting him. They will not overtake us next season if we get Mourinho, Abramovich must know that.

The return of Martin Jol?

Lovely bloke, but he took us as far as he could in my opinion. Jol set the team out too negatively when we took the lead against Arsenal and we rarely beat any side in the top 4. We used to concede late goals all the time too. Redknapp has turned both of those around.

Harry laughs off Chelsea talk

Spurs chief backs Mourinho for Chelsea return

Last Updated: March 6, 2012 11:56am

Redknapp, who is favourite to succeed Fabio Capello as England boss, has been mentioned as a contender for the Chelsea job following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas over the weekend.

However, Redknapp has moved to dismiss the speculation that he could take charge at Stamford Bridge.

"It would be difficult; I wouldn't be able to come back to north London so I'd have to pass on that"

When asked if he would be interested in the Chelsea job, Redknapp said: "That's all I need!

"It would be difficult; I wouldn't be able to come back to north London so I'd have to pass on that.

"But it's a dream job for somebody."

Redknapp rejected suggestions that it was impossible to succeed at Chelsea due to the demands of Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

"Well it's a great job for somebody that's for sure," added Redknapp. "It's a club you can win a championship at because the owner has spared no expense.

"He has built the most incredible training ground, they buy players at the top level, they have got top players so it is a dream job for somebody to go there and make a success of it - whoever they take.

"So many people would love that job and chance to work at a great club with the backing the manager gets there, but you've got to make a success of it. That's the rules.

"If you don't you are not going to last but if you do well the sky's the limit.

"It's a great job for somebody."

Mourinho backing

Jose Mourinho is the bookmakers' favourite to replace Villas-Boas and Redknapp would be happy to see the Real Madrid boss back in the Premier League.

"He was fantastic when he was here, he was a character and he was great at his job," added Redknapp.

"You don't go to Inter Milan and win the Champions League and now look at Real Madrid.

"I thought he was an amazing guy, great personality and you wonder if he would come back here.

"It would be difficult to leave a club like Real Madrid, that's for sure, but who knows Chelsea may be the one club that could tempt him."

Not one mention of him being happy at Spurs. Not one mention at all about Spurs, our players and how well we are doing. It's all about him, only ever has and as soon as he fuks off to the England job the better.

Yes I am sure a Murdoch run media outlet will publish everything he said in the interview and not cherry pick the quotes that are only relevant to the story. I have trouble believing everything I read let alone what I don't read!

A short article about Redknapp and the Chelsea job that only contains quotes from Redknapp about the Chelsea job? Shocking!

He was asked about the Chelsea job and what it would mean to him - what did you expect him to talk about?

When people ask you questions, do you ignore them and answer a question that you wanted to be asked instead?

I'm beginning to suspect that you're not a big fan of Harry..........

ok, he was asked about Chelsea and gave a response, but it was a bit eulogistic wasnt it, i mean "the most incredible training ground (how does he know, when was he there),they have top players so its a dream job for someone (dream job?), So many people would love that job and the chance to work at a great club with the backing that the manager gets there" ( great club? backing? what, a few defeats and off you go?)

and this one really is a bit OTT, about Mourinho possibly going to Chelsea "it would be difficult to leave a club like Real Madrid, that's for sure, but who knows, Chelsea could be the one club who could tempt him" .THE ONE club that could tempt him? hmmmm

lotta love there for Chelsea

Yes, Harry has a massive hard on for Chelsea. Well, either that, or he was saying that Chelsea is the one job that could tempt Mourhino because he's an ex-Chelsea manager who previously had massive success there and who has stated on more than one occasion how much he loves Chelsea. Nah, couldn't have been that...

Harry will talk a lot whatever subject he's asked about. If Moyes left Everton and they asked him about that he'd tell you what a wonderful club Everton was, go on about their tradition, what a great job Moyes did, etc etc etc.

Exactly. He said Chelsea was the one club JOSE would be tempted by. Nothing to do with Harrys feelings to them.

Could you give me a source to the question ? I havent seen it myself yet you seem to know, but from the answer's given I would have thought something along the lines of what are your thoughts on being linked to the Chelsea job. If you can show me where he was asked what the job would mean to him I'd appreciate that.

what did I expect him to talk about ? - I would expect him to mention the fact he is already in a job, call me old fashioned but I expect that minor detail to me brought up somewhere in his bile. When Bale is talked about moving he states he is very happy at Spurs, when Modric talked about moving but also mentioned his time at Spurs. Harry mentioned fudge all. Your suspicion's are correct regarding Harry, I'm not a big fan of the motor mouthed, tactically inept taco that wants a move to another job. I'm also not a very big fan of yours either.

How the hell would you know? We have never met
I'm sorry you feel that way, but if its because I asked you why you make irrational statements about HR, maybe you should consider the fact that you don't think too clearly - because of your jaundiced view of him.

Do you not appreciate anything that he has done for the club?

I think Redknapp would take the Chelsea job if it was offered to him. fcuk England, fcuk Spurs, Chelsea is the dream:)

this is how Brendan Rodgers responded when asked if he would be interested in the Chelsea job

......

"For me the focus is on Swansea.I came here to do a job. The story for us all so far has been fantastic and I hope that will continue. If any of our fans are wondering about me and Chelsea, they need not panic. I am trying to build my career, not destroy it."

And while undoubtedly flattered to be put in the frame alongside such high-profile candidates, the Northern Irishman says they are welcome to one of the toughest jobs in world football.

"There is so much going for Chelsea - it's a terrific club," he added. "But you can't continue doing what they do and have success. It does not work. The next manager who goes in there will have the same problems and issues.

"It's a big job and demanding job - that's how it is at the big clubs and that's why the salaries are so high. It's certainly going to be interesting to see what route they go down now."

Before you start asking me questions about what he has done for the club, why don't you answer mine ?

Where is the source of being asked "about the Chelsea job and what it would mean to him" ? Then when you clearly cant find one as you made it up as a response to me, you can then admit your taking rubbish as you used it to say "what did you expect him to talk about?".

I have given examples of how players/managers respond when asked about other jobs when they are in employment. It's called being respectful for your currently employers. Modric may not have been the best example of this, but he did comment on how good his time has been at Spurs when asked about moving.

My views of Harry may not sit with you, but you used made up questions about what Harry was asked just because you didnt like what I said about him.

I should really take the advice of one of your previous posts, you are clearly stupid and are dragging me down to your level.
