Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't believe there is any other offer, and even if there were, Bale clearly has his heart set on Madrid, and we wouldn't sell to a PL club, so United have no chance, and even if they did, Rooney would never agree personal terms with us, and even if he did, he'd be in the press agitating for a move to Chelsea and bigger wages the first chance he got.

Re: Gareth Bale

This is such a ploy for Sky to pull in some extra money on Sky Bet. They shouldn't be allowed to act as a responsible broadcaster then release tripe stories that influence their betting market.

People said exactly the same when they said another club is in for Willian ....

Re: Gareth Bale

I still think he will end up in Madrid now but anything that makes toadface pull his hair out and have a tantrum is fine by me.....

The embarrassment for Madrid after the shirts on sale/stage being erected would be priceless.

Is that true? Cheeky bastards

Re: Gareth Bale

I havent forgotten the Berba saga ive just moved on. Are we going to be such fans that continually think of the past etc? We need to move on.

If Man Utd offer us 60-65m straight up cash plus Rooney THAT IS strengthening us. You dont think Rooney plus Lamela (plus a surplus of around 35m) would strengthen us? It would strengthen them having Bale (I agree and it is tough to take) but a deal like that would strengthen us plus no risk of cash not being recieved etc. We need to look after ourselves and **** everything else. Worrying constantly about other clubs serves no purpose.

Im sure players see our potential and see that they can be part of a succesful ambitious team. Rooney doesnt have many other choices tat would beat Man Utd in terms of club size.

Anyways we will see what happens, im sure we are discussing a rumour that is barely a rumour but more someone spouting off ****e.

Manure letting Rooney join us would tell you all you need to know about whether his arrival would actually be strengthening us. Remember Frazier Campbell?

I agree with your last line and will leave it at that

Re: Gareth Bale

I'm fairly confident there's no way (a) Levy would sell Bale to a PL rival, (b) Rooney would want to come to Spurs in an exchange deal and (c) Manure would cough up enough cash to match our valuation. It's Real or no sale, IMO. Both seems equally likely at the moment.

Re: Gareth Bale

I get the not selling to united under normal circumstances, but for that amount of money it's a bit different IMO, and we know they can definitely pay up

Really?? Have you seen their debt balance sheets? Oh and why haven't they snapped up other Madrid or Barca players if they can pay 60m for Bale?

Re: Gareth Bale

They only buy when they "see value in the market", which is why they went for another canny Scot.

With their debt model, global reach and merchandising, they could easily follow a similar philosophy to Madrid. Buy up a superstar and you'll make more from image rights etc over their contract than you pay - it's why they justified such a large amount for rooney. This is another level of money but it's also a long time later and if anyone other than Madrid could leverage a players popularity to justify a world record fee it's man u.

That said I really don't think bale wants to be anywhere but Madrid right now, and that's where he'll end up if he does go.

Re: Gareth Bale

Bale could give us a going away present scoring a cracking winning goal Sunday against the scum. Would be the perfect end to his Spurs career!

Re: Gareth Bale

We are fecking Bale and Madrid about by making it difficult for them both without really doing anything out of order, Levy you are a star.

I'm guessing our stance is that we don't want to sell Bale, but are prepared to listen to offers that match our valuation.
The only ones fooking about and doing things that are out of order here, are Real and their PR machinery (aka Marca).

If anything, I'm confident Levy will make sure that if Bale leaves, it will be on our terms, and that our best interests are taken care of first and foremost.

Re: Gareth Bale

Chadli is intelligent with two great feet and will get better and better, Pauline looks the business and Capoue is just unbelievably good, Soldado looks the best finisher we have had since Lineker, Kaboul and Sandro back, irrelevant of Bale we must be a threat to any other team in the Prem, must not forget Townsend either who seems to be making the most of his chance.

Happy Days!

Re: Gareth Bale

I see this in the article:

In 2008, Chelsea scuppered a move for Madrid star Robinho when they started selling replica shirts bearing the Brazilian's name before they had actually signed him. The frontman later moved to Emirates Marketing Project and claimed his move to Stamford Bridge fell through because Real were angry at the Blues' for denting their 'pride'

Maybe we should do the same for a laugh.

Re: Gareth Bale

Why on earth would we want to sell Bale to utd?

Yeah great, we get Rooney and buy Lamela, we're really strong then and can have a go at the title, right?

Except that we just gave them Bale to play off of RVP, meaning they will slaughter 90% of the teams in the league and p1ss the title!

Utd can f**k right off!
