*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool OMT ***

Sigurdsson Holtby and Bale behind a forward would be interesting to see

I posted a formation with this earlier. Think it could work very well if they click. All three can interchange with each other. I suppose it's something they would need to practice a bit beforehand though, so don't know if we will see it.

I think we'll lose, but only because as a Spurs fan its hard to imagine that life can be this good; consecutive wins against West Ham away, Arsenal, Inter, Liverpool away and then maybe Inter away!!?? Its just to hard to conceive of a run of results like that...

Liverpool will try to play football, but there'll be huge gaps for us to exploit. We'll destroy them on the break with pace. I'd start Defoe over Ade just for this.

I think we'll likely do what we've done to Utd and the goons, let him have the ball in non-dangerous areas and hit them on the counter. I can see the first half being pretty tight and boring until both loosen up and on decides to go for it...that's when we will nick it.

I think that there is plenty of pace in Bale, SIG and Holtby to unsettle most teams. Lennon is a big loss (he's a strong contender for player of the season for me) but I am sure that we have replacements good enough to overcome Liverpool and the way that we are setting up with him in the team should help reduce the impact when he's not.

there is plenty of pace between bale thats playing more central, Siggy and Holtby?? yeah i see now why you dont think the loss of lennon is as big an issue.....you probably see holtby and siggy being able to deputise in his role if they need to? i dont agree personally. we'll soon see i guess

i agree that the impact is reduced, at least from a top surface perspective but the implications of not being able to relieve congestion by baring your teeth on the flank is one that i feel will come back to bite us.

and you know what...lennon doesnt play that narrow anyway..and when he does it isnt too narrow...more to allow an overlap...which we arent strangers to either even before this season thanks to chimbonda and walker

i cant see sigg or holtby being able to offer us nearly anything that lennon can...as such i would like to see bale more on the flank and hope siggy has regained a bit of his touch

90% of Liverpool fans are convinced they will smash us. I'm pretty sure they always do though. Tough game in all honesty, and we know this.

Fully expect the front quartet of Downing, Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge. That quartet will cause problems for most teams and whilst Suarez doesn't usually perform v us, Sturridge usually does score.

But whilst they will go full pelt at us they will inevitably be there to be exposed. If Azza plays I'm confident. Going to need to be fully switched on all over the park.

If we keep them quiet for the early parts their optimism will soon disappear.

just like arsenal, we'll let them have ALL the possession they want in the middle of the park hoping we can nick it off them there, if not,we'll be very organized at the back etc.

unlike Arsenal however they have an end product. so it will be tougher.

Hi all - long time lurker here who has finally bitten the bullet to post. :)

Be interesting to see just how much they push forward this match - it will suit us no end if they really do commit heavily to attack.

Just got to hope somehow Lennon is fit (although after Thursday i can't see it sadly).

Siggy has to stay in the 1st eleven after his last 2 starts and Dawson to come back in given his recent form too.

Would be great to extend our unbeaten run further if we can.

Welcome on board molokovellocet. We're going to blame you if we don't win tomorrow, is that ok? ;)

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for 10 men to make it difficult for them and for Bale to win it single-handedly again. It's what he does right?

As unambitious as it may sound, this is along the lines of what im thinking. While holtby may lack the pace of bale, i think his work-rate means that we shouldnt loose too much defensively. The way liverpool are playing at the moment i think its going to come down to us taking advantage of the way that they faff about at the back at times, and holtby looks like someone that can do this.

Lennon has had so many anonymous games in the last few months, I don't think we're missing much tbh.

Right I've had enough of this. Let's absolutely ruin these horrible jumped up macaronic ****ney tossers who think they are a big club despite the fact that they've won almost nothing. Ram this Bale hyperbole down everybody's throat while Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez tinkle all over this myth that Spurs are important. We are Liverpool, we have won the European Cup FIVE TIMES. Tottenham might finish above Arsenal this year. The juggernaut has woken up and anybody trying to stop it will be fudged. Starting with these on Sunday.

Allez les Rouges.
