Is that Jeremy Clarkson's son bottom right (Curly Clarkson?)

Re: Gareth Bale

For the second game in a row Bale's average position is further forwards then Adebayor's.

I have seen people declaring that we are in definite need of a ball playing midfielder, however the only way i can see one fitting into our side is in a 4-3-3. Our defensive setup relies heavily on a partnership of Sandro/Parker and Dembele, and solidarity at the back has become one of our most important developments in the run we are currently having.

If Bale wants to play as an AM there is no space for him in the side in a 4-3-3.

What are people's thoughts on him becoming that Striker we have wanted for so long? Personally i think he has the attributes for it.

Isn't Ade basically playing as a midfielder based on those average positions? He's barely ahead of Parker.

Yes mate, and a few of us have ben trying (in vain) to point out that AVB has got the side shaped up to take advantage of it's current in-form goalscorer which has the 'recognized' out-of-finishing form striker playing a deeper, wider role. Funny that people slag him for his 'attitude' when the bloke has basically

a) kept his mouth shut and
b) got on with doing a job which I'll bet he doesn't exactly fancy.

Of course he should do that, he gets paid handsomely and it's his job, but I'm just saying that the rancour tossed at him week after week is depressing and (IMHO) lacking in context, scope and knowledge of what the bigger picture being deployed by AVB currently is.

didnt know you were that new around these parts, feels like you've been here for ages. a few people have been championing this for a while. its not a new concept, though at the time 99% of the board were against it, but at least this idea was raped every which way from sunday. I wish we could fish out those discussions....i'm curious as to what arguments were put so strongly AGAINST him playing as a forward...and to compare it to us shifting him back to left wing from the same people

I agree with your idea personally. though i would prefer him playing as a channel hugging forward. one that does not play with his back to goal
