Players that were OK in hindsight

Michael Brown, Came in and gave us some bite when we gladly needed it. Decent at attacking as well for a DM.

He did. Surprised at what he did playing wise, having scored 20+ goals for Sheffield United in one season I thought he would be more of an all-round midfielder.

Back in the day, John Pratt came-in for more than his fair share of abuse from the fans.

But he always gave 100% to the Spurs cause and made-up for his lack of natural talent with determination and grit in central midfield (Livermore, anyone?).

Pratt's 331 appearances yielded 39 goals - a pretty good return for someone who was essentially a defensive midfielder - spread over a first team career from 1965 to 1979.

One of my earliest memories of being at the Lane was the constant abuse he got from the crowd, I didn't understand it but was only a kid surely the adults knew better?! :-k

Ghaly?

one of the worst players ive ever had the misfortune to watch ! where did he end up after us ??

never seen a player misplace so many passes.

Thought Mendes - Davis looked promising. Injuries and Carrick never let us see what could have been. Not that I'm complaining.

We all have different views. Rated Ghaly, thought it was a shame that Harry didn't have the balls to play him again.

Mendes probably falls into the category of players that should never have been sold. But that's a different thread.

Yep, I think the general consensus on Mendes was highly-rated. Champions League winner as well I think?

I was thinking more of his pairing with Davis. Davis turned into an absolute clogger after he left us. Much like Michael Brown who I never rated.

Watching that video just makes me miss the 05/06 season even more. Davids, young Lennon bursting on the scene, Robinson one of the best keepers in the league, King and Dawsons defensive partnership, Michael Carrick in midfield, Martin Jol.. damn!
