***Tottenham v Brentford OMT***

It was a poor performance, and the football world will love it and paint the headlines with their broadest strokes, lots of our own will have their meltdowns over this that and the other, but we all know deep down that this is just the beginning - we lack coherence, we're a completely new team, new players all over the pitch, players coming back from injuries, players having just about survived relegation - it's going to take some time to get a team to gel. This whole preseason thing isn't really worth all that much.

Don't panic. It's one game of football. It's early doors. Let the others think we are crap. We have a more than capable coach wanting to play the style we want to watch, and we have lots of good players (I know some will disagree, but we do). It'll come. Nothing comes easy in the PL.
 
we really didn't start on the front foot, starting lineup was so weak - toothless up font, soft like warm buter in the middle and all over the place at the back

our own hate on romero is our own downfall, bergval needs to bide his time since we are getting rid of Sarr man, and we must stick with fernandes and bentancur in the middle

i think Richy needs to play with Solanke up front, neither are strong enough to play the lone striker role

We finished 17th in consecutive seasons with Romero captaining the side.

Let’s not start rewriting history already.
 
I just don’t think the owners and Lange will ever learn or should I say ever actually understand top level football.

You cannot go into a season that undercooked and with such a sub standard attack.

If this goes on for 4-6 weeks you’re basically 10 points short and confidence could be gone before it even had a chance to form.

Bit unfair given they had six signings done before pre-season even started, for over £232m. Yes the attack looks brick, but that was the lesser problem today compared to how awful that defense looked, and that's the one that was reinforced first, midfield following after.

All on de Zerbi today I'm afraid. Got his lineup wrong and his tactics wrong.
 
I didn't catch it all, but it was awful.

But over half that team doesn't start when players are back/signed.

We looked off the pace though. That is a worry

Not a single club that’s done more business than us prior to the season.
