Djed Spence

Gray will be a perma RB. JPVH can also play there.

Who is CSV?
CSV = VdV once autocorrect is done with him lol 😆

I don't think Gray should be pigeonholed as a right back, nor do I think he'll be happy to be one after a season spent in his preferred position at centre midfield.

If we sell Spence, we have to buy a right-back. Unless we find one that's both cheaper and better than Djed, it makes no sense to sell him imo.

Gray isn't press resistant, he doesn't have an expansive passing range, nor is he an incisive passer, he can't dribble or beat his man and he has neither a burst of acceleration nor a fast top speed. His game is not similar to the men you mentioned at all. It's kinda of strange of you to place him in their company, his game is nothing like any of of them.

Based on the is why would he be good in midfield?

There's nothing about Archie which makes him good for the RB position. While Djed can comfortably play RB, LB and decently at RW.

Wanting to sell Djed coz we have Archie as back up isn't rational. It's fukin stupid. I hope the club or anyone who knows ball doesn't listen to rob

It's all a bit intriguing actually, especially as a 16/17 year old Archie kept Djed out of a Leeds championship team at RB a few years back. I'm someone that does think Archie could have that RB string to his bow.

There were definitely insinuations about Djed's commitment and attitude from Farke even though I'm not sure he said as much. I think he went more down the line of "cool guy, good heart" and "club has very, very high demands" as Djed came back to Spurs in the January.

The other angle here is trade offs by RDZ. He knows we haven't got a money tree and where we spend big we need to balance that with player profit. Djed is clearly a player who could generate that profit and if he has any doubts then he could offer him up as a sacrifice. So RDZ has a season where we only have domestic football and can test Archie out and see whether he ticks the boxes for the following season as the number of games increase.

How knows? Certainly not people like us right?

This isn't how debates work. You've got nothing to back this up other than doubling down on you not having some weird dislike for Djed.

I’ve explained it elsewhere in this thread and I’m nowhere near close to the most anti Spence poster in this thread. If he is part of the squad next season I wouldn’t have a problem. If we sell him for £30M+ I wouldn’t have a problem either.

Now stop trying to derail threads with your personal insecurities.

Nah mate your just racist.

lol - yeah, I did see that yesterday and had a little chuckle.

I just think Djed should just give up football and work on landing the Will character in a modern remake of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

My realistic dream signings this summer would be Kroupi & Marmoush but only so that I can have an agenda against them for the next 3-4 seasons.

I'm glad you've joined me on the naughty step. Nice to have some company.

I just mentioned Kane on another thread, but I think I got away with it :tearsofjoy:

Given that we have signed 2x CM’s for £185M combined. We need to clear room in the deep CM group. Gallagher has only just signed and I think we will play AM.

That leaves you with Bentancur, Bergvall, Gray, Sarr.

Nobody would want to sell Gray. Even though he is not press resistant, doesn't have an expansive passing range or an incisive passer. Probably just because he is white British but maybe also because he is really good.

Sarr & Bergvall have been linked with moves away. Most seem in favor of Sarr leaving, I assume because he is from Africa and Muslim and not at all do with with playing ability.

Most seem reluctant to sell Bergvall. A blonde white player who follows right wing influencers on social media is likely the reason for this. But could also be because he is clearly an elite talent who will be club trained next season.

So to keep Bergvall you would need to move on from Bentancur. He appears to be trusted by DeZerbi and doesn’t have a high transfer value though.

The alternative where you keep Bentancur, Bergvall & Gray is where you sell Spence and have Gray play RB. You then have Bentancur as the Fernandes backup and Bergvall and the Tonali backup.

You've spent the last week trying to explain soemthing. Nobody, including you, knows what that is.
