J P van Hecke

Assuming Van Heck is open to signing for Spurs, what is the max we should pay for him? £55m? £60m? £65m?
Do his attributes mean that he is worth more to us than he would be to other clubs?
Given his contract length....I don't think you'd want to be paying anymore than £50m.

Let's be honest Van Heck isn't coming in from a foreign league..... we've all been watching the PL and no-one has been bleeting on about 'how good he is' every week, have they.

His numbers are well up there. A transfer is always a risk, but if he’s good enough which I believe he is let’s not do a Marc Guehi and let him slip away.

Translation: The transfer of Jan Paul van Hecke is getting closer and closer. Possibly by Sunday. But whether the current developments are favorable for NAC? Brighton & Hove Albion wants to involve Luka Vuskovic in the deal and would value the Spurs defender at around 30 million pounds.

I don't like that very much. Unless possibly he's misunderstood and we're being told Van Hecke plus £30 million is being offered for Vuskovic

30m is a lot for a loan fee, because not even we are stupid enough to sell the kid right now with his value constantly rising

I realise that football is a game of opinions... and your evaluation of this player does not seem to be stellar.

However the other flipside to opinions are stats... and this guy's are pretty impressive.... especially in terms of ball progression which is clearly a priority for de Zerbi

Apologies I missed a question mark at the end of my sentence.
It was an observation that is either confirmed or contested.

The stats are bound to be good....Lange is running recruitment

I think £50m is high myself
City paid £20m for Guehi with six months left and he was and is IMO mor established and proven
He was available with a year left for £35m
The issue her of course is Brighton don’t want to sell and are a very stubborn, but well run club
It’s their way or no way

Sounds like they regret not selling Baleba for 80m last year though, won’t get anywhere near that for him now. They sacked their DoF because of it.. apparently anyway.

So despite what everyone says Brighton don’t always get it right and I’m not sure RDZ would agree with their model either, after all that’s why he left because they sold half his first 11.

Maybe ther reason no one is "bleeting"is because they don't have to... and let his numbers do the talking.... ever considered that?

We are targeting the two best CBs in the league in passing/involvement in buildup.

If he had 3-4 years left on his contract I assume we would pay the £50m. Probably more.

It's always an interesting dilemma this one. We did the same with Kane, but obviously the other way round. Personally, if RDZ wants that player then we should pay it. He would obviously need to accept that means he'll be making do in another position if the budget runs out, or leverage a younger player there.

Probably like most fans, I'm a little sick of my club just buying squad players. If Romero is off, and VH is the replacement then I say get it done. Let's start buying 1st team players.

Add in they what over £25m for a keeper who hasn’t played a top flight game …. They do have some strange valuations

Ha ha...nah I've never considered that. I've always considered football fans to be quite opinionated and vocal about what they see with their eyes (endlessly so tbh). But I'm sure they're outnumbered by 'Lange' types that have the deep dive numbers...but keep it to themselves.
