Richarlison

What a shift. Made for proper relegation football, should have played every game in the last two months.

I'd sort of agree as I unashamedly love this man but Richy has been fairly injury prone during his time here (who hasn't I guess). If he starts every game and then breaks down again...

We're still in a hugely precarious position but we'd be totally fudged without him. The key is, when you have players like him, Palhinha and Gallagher in the team, we're actually hunting for the ball with belief that we can get it rather than just wanting to look like we're running hard enough to appease the manager.

And aside from that, it's hard to argue with goal involvements and Richy is consistently in and amongst it when it comes to scoring and setting up others to score. Where was the pigeon yesterday though, surely he could've fit it in to his 2 and a half minute celebration somewhere!

Would basically leave us without a striker wouldn’t it?

I guess RKM could move central, but are we then down to someone like Spence having to play wing forward? There just… is no one else is there?

Its his attitude that i love, he would run through brick walls for the team and he never gives up.

Yep, and this season has changed my mind on him. I think we need another striker, maybe a CF and another that can play right.

My assumption was always we sell Richi, keep Solanke, if we spend big, I wouldn't be totally against keeping Richi as the 2nd striker and moving on Solanke (I get his hold up play and all that, but he really hasn't clicked for us)

Solanke was brought it to be the point man for Ange. Im not writing him off yet as they have mostly all been crap this season. But We cant go into next season with him and Richy alone. Neither can stay fit and they dont scare the opposition at all.

if he is out next Monday. I would play VDV up front and no I am not joking. he can do a job for us and dutch players train all over. he has the pace and he has a finish. And he will fight. We need a point man even if he ends up as a decoy.

But then we have to play Dragusin….

I keep saying Richarlison is the guy that gives 110% for the team. His numbers are decent even in a season like this. Loved it when I though we would bring him as a back-up for Harry. Saw him as someone that could carry the torch, into the future and I still hold that idea. I would still keep him if we bring in a great striker. Now is the striker position our biggest problem? No. But if I were to keep only one, it would be Richy.

There was some suggestion that he'd picked up a knock in the Villa game and that he was observed to have limped off, but his name hasn't appeared on the injured list here and there's been nothing specific in the clickbait columns as far as I can see.

As far as his scoring goes, he's never been what you'd call prolific, his rough career average is a fairly unremarkable 1 in 3.5, but he has had one or two purple patches where he's gone as high as 4 in 4 at club level. Let's hope he's in one of those now.

He's crossed double figures 5 times in the PL era, never in a top side, often with injuries reducing his impact on season (his injury record has been better this season). I can say for us, I've never seen the side setup for him (balls into the box, either in the air or for scraps) and often he's been isolated but continues to work his socks off.

I think if we want to get back to top 4 consistently, he's should not be our #1, but as backup or as part of a two of him/Solanke next season if the right CF isn't available and we buy next summer, could work.

The striker position is absolutely a problem. We have no one who can hold the ball up, link the play, beat his man or finish efficiently.

There isn't a striker in the league that can do all of that. We had the best striker in the world in Harry and you think this is the standard now. Haaland is the only one that comes close, but he can't link up play.

It's hilarious, Haland is an absolute monster/machine, yet the gap to Harry (as the seasons at Bayern have proven) is significant.

As long as we compare who we have to Kane, it will never measure up.

I find it amazing when I've read on here about Kane's faults, I expect the rest of the fans in the league to hate him and the knobheads on TV to be critical of him but for Spurs fans to turn on the player who carried us for years is unbelievable. We will never have an other striker as good as him.

We don’t need another Kane though, we can share his attributes around. We need a striker who can hit 20 goals in a season, nothing more. The link up play, creativity etc can come from wide and the #10. While having a player of Kane’s quality undoubtedly helps, it’s not the be all and end all.
