***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton, White Hart Lane, Sat April 18th, 5.30pm***

Gallagher, fudge knows. 300k for someone who can press. He did it well but his lack of first touch etc is a killer.

300k ?

Football.London report that Gallagher is on £160k

(And that Simons is on almost £200k)

It was an atrocious display from him, total lack of effort. Other players tried hard and he barely ran, I'm surprised he got picked ahead of Richi who at least works hard.
We all know Muani isn’t committed. He knows as well as we do next season he won’t be here. But the blame for having no one else who play in that position is the board’s. Muani wasn’t identified as someone who could improve us, it was a hastily put together deal that stinks of ‘he’ll do for now’ that no doubt his agent put forward. Not replacing Johnson when Kudus got injured is why he’s still playing

The more I think about the match and the more I think we've turned a corner, this time. It may be too late and we may come to rue those two points at the end of the season, but if we get another performance like that at Wolves, we might be onto something. It would still take a miracle to survive this season, but the situation isn't as dire as it was after the Forest game.

Apart from the fact that we’re now in the relegation zone, are further behind Forest, and there are now only five games left rather than seven?

I'm not saying it's not too late. In all likelihood, it's too little, too late, but nobody knows for sure because our fate is out of our hands. What I'm saying is that getting 10 points out of the next five games - which would be an excellent return in any other scenario - doesn't seem as unrealistic as it did before the Brighton game.

I think what he's saying is that at that point the level of performance was so low you're struggling to see how that team could win in the PL. We didn't win but pushed a very good brighton team to the absolute brink and we play like that again we will win games. Problem is the ratio of games we now need to win may be beyond the ceiling of the players we have available, which only makes the late sacking of Frank and the decision to stumble along with Tudor when they did all the more frustrating. Saying that there is still a route to 40 points. Beat Wolves, Leeds and Everton and get a point against Villa or Chelsea. Extremely difficult given the form we have shown. But it is there nonetheless

Wolves is an actual must win, it's been said in previous games but if we don't win that then the game really is up.

If we do win that and get the monkey off our back, with the gradual improvements we are seeing under RDZ I would say we have a fighting chance of beating Villa. That match is right inbetween their Europa League semi final derby against Forest, I'm feeling oddly positive about that one (if we beat Wolves). Do the business there (of course it's easier said than done) and the outlook begins to look very different and we would be building some momentum. Let's see, the battle for the final relegation spot usually goes down to the wire so as bad as the situation looks there's likely some swings to happen yet....
