***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton, White Hart Lane, Sat April 18th, 5.30pm***

Would go 2 up top v Wolves, Richy and Solanke. Muani, what a lazy good for nothing he is! Xavi in behind those 2 and a midfield 3 with Benancur, Bergvall and either Gray or Gallager. Bissouma did ok yesterday but the same story with him, does something well and then gets complacent loses focus and loses the ball. Frustrating player as when he's 100% focused he's very good.

The PL said before this season they'd be clamping down on shirt pulling and the grabs at corners etc but I've not seen any evidence of it.
The thing is everyone has their own view. Just as you have the Alan Smith's of this world that wouldn't blow up unless someone was decapitated, you will also get these people that replay something at endless angles and speeds to find the tiniest potential infringement that could technically be a foul according to the rules.

Referees will all have their individual interpretation of the rules. Take "preventing a goal scoring opportunity" - you could have endless debates about whether a player had a genuine goalscoring opportunity if they weren't fouled and to an extent that may also depend on the player. Was watching a Kun Aguero compilation and the amount of finishes from ridiculously tight angles where you think "no chance...oh its a goal". That sort of thing means that if a player like Aguero is brought down wide of goal its a different kettle of fish from a normal player being brought down in the same scenario.

Its not easy to get the consistency we crave is all i am saying.

Bentancur made a difference for me yesterday. He just does that underappreciated job of efficiently recycling the ball better than any other of our midfielders.

Only saw the second half but the 20 mins he was on, he was our best player IMO. Broke up play a few times, can’t remember him wasting a pass even if they weren’t defence splitting passes. Thought he was brilliant for a lad who has been out as long as he has.

Crucial he plays in the run in IMO.

Fair to say I’m a broken man today
Got in at 2 am and seems I watched MOTD
Watched it again this morning
Thought we actually played well ish
Cannot fathom for one minute why anyone thinks it’s ok to send racism abuse to Kev Danso… horrendous
Really pleased to see Xavi create and score too

Has he been abused? I’ve seen near unanimous support for him online so it really is a minority of macarons if he has been. Been surprised by the support he’s gotten actually because sometimes people look for a spacegoat. He 100% deserves that support by the way.

Keep the faith mate. We will stay up.

Yes, the club put out a statement about it :

fudge sake. It did occur to me on full time yesterday that it might happen. How fudging disappointing.

The support I’ve seen for him online has been heartwarming. He’s a terrific player and a terrific lad.

Maybe yesterday was the turning point
I saw a plan and I saw some belief… not enough but some…

Remember the gut punch West Ham took in 2007 at their place when Stalteri scored the winner in injury time. They must have been on the floor after that and they looked 110% nailed on to go down. They turned it around.

We can too. I saw something yesterday and I listened to RDZ and thought “if I was a player, I’m running through the fires of hell for him.”

The tide will turn. We’re just gonna survive by 2 points less than we would have done if we held on yesterday.

Thought Bissouma and Bentancur were very good. Took them a while but they got braver as the game went on. Started getting it of the defence and Lolo was driving forwards and passing forwards.

Xavi very positive. How he set up the goal is how he needs to carry the ball generally, Chnages of direction and using gravity, he's not going to out muscle opponents and he seems to want to drive in stright lines which doesn't work for him.

Gallagher, fudge knows. 300k for someone who can press. He did it well but his lack of first touch etc is a killer. If Maddison or Kulu is in that role, Xavi from the left and Kudus from the right we could be in business.

Spence for the goal and even before that, a subcriber to the Muani school of effort.

Muani himself, has to be his last start. Doesn't come short, doesn't go long, doesn' track back, Honestly would prefer Johnson there just for the fact he might score a tap in at some point.

Thought Kinsky was good, the one from the corner would have been a goal if Vic was there doing his vampire impression.

Just much more optimistic about our future, whatever it is. Have to satisfy the manager and let him build. And sack the trumpet guy.

I kinda agree
I am a positive guy but I actually think we get a result vs wolves. They look poor again
I also don’t think that West Ham and Forest willl get the reusing people think… although they will get points this weekend IMO

It was an atrocious display from him, total lack of effort. Other players tried hard and he barely ran, I'm surprised he got picked ahead of Richi who at least works hard.

How on earth did we spaff the £100m transfer fee we received from Bayern for Kane on Solanke, Muani and Tel who between the 3 of them don’t offer half of what he did whilst Harry’s streaky understudy remains our top scorer 💸

Yeah I expect them to pick up points this weekend, especially Forest and that could mean we’re more than one result from safety which is obviously a bigger worry but they’ll drop plenty of points between now and the end of the season themselves.

Yes, but you'e talking about edge-cases. It would be nice if they even got the straightforward, middle-of-the-bell-curve ones right most of the time.

One thing that is worth mentioning is that Brighton were on a run of three consecutive wins and yet we almost beat them. Sure, if you just look at the names on the poster, the result isn't that great but if you consider the context, it's a decent result. It's just a shame that we're so close to the point of no return that it might not be enough.

Just seen the statement about Danso. When it happened I was saying FFS Danso what are you doing but its a spur of the moment thing in the emotion of the moment. I know I and a few others on here think we have a bunch of low IQ footballers but lets get one thing straight they are not making mistakes on purpose. When Brighton equalised if the 94th minute and the camera went to Danso you could see he was devastated. I feel for him and to see he is getting vile abuse just goes to show what cretins some supporters are.

Don't know enough about him yet. He is a good player whenbI watched him on loan at Palace. I actually think he has good technical ability but he is an attacking midfielder rather than a defensive one. We need to judge him next season if he stays.

The Gallagher signing for me emphasises that at no point did tweedledee and tweedledum realise we were neck deep in brick and that they had no intention of sacking Frank, they likely saw him as a upgrade on Sarr the way Frank was initially setting us up.
