*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

We dont really know unfortunately.

But the problem right now is you cant see where our next win is coming from. Really it should be next week, but is anyone confident that right now we will, and we cant afford to lose next week, thats where we are right now

Watching Burnley today, I can see us getting turned over there in 2 weeks time, so winning next week is a must for me

Tbh this is why my head is turned a bit tonight.

I genuinely don’t think it’s all on Frank (some is), and as you say I genuinely don’t know if someone else coming in improves us.

However as you mention we simply have to win our next two games, if we lose those I can see us on a real downward spiral and being bang in trouble. These players don’t look up for finishing top half, can’t imagine what their lack of guts would be like in a relegation scrap.

Previously I was very much ‘changing manager doesn’t necessarily change us’ but with every week I’m not seeing a future tbh, so at one point do you take the risk? GHod knows who we would grab, but we need to pull ourselves up to mid table and get away from danger quickly.

I was a huge fan of getting Frank in but I must admit i was wrong.
We are so defensive and low and just waiting for Villa to attack us wave after wave, anyone could se 2-0 was coming. At home we must be showing some will to go forward.

I don't see the players playing for Frank anymore, they just seem to want to get home and away from Spurs.

I was thinking that we replace Frank and get a new coach in early in the summer, but after this I think we need to get a temp replacement next week.

Depression!
It’s ain’t just Frank tho. What manager get a tune out of that lot. We are rot. Play with no desire whatsoever, no passion or grit nothing

That performance was a disgrace. I’m not blaming anyone in particular because overall this situation is a mess. Our season is effectively over today, barring a miracle in the second half.

The players have given up. Gray was extremely lazy for their first goal. Everyone was lazy for their second. Danso just hoofs it forward when he has time on about 43 mins and it’s just ridiculous.

This breaks whatever faith in Frank I had unfortunately. I like the guy. I don’t think it’s all his fault. But this is dreadful. The season is over today, and we sacked a trophy winning manager to literally waste the next season. Whatever foundations Frank would establish long term, it simply isn’t worth the season being wasted.

My only explanation is that asking the players to learn a whole new method after forging a trophy through the fire of the circumstances faced last season was an extremely stupid decision. There’s only so much you can give as a human being psychologically, and the moment things have gotten tough here the players just have nothing left to give. They ran all the way up a mountain for someone else and achieved greatness. And were then told actually it’s going to be something new.

I can’t recall a club sacking a manager that had such obvious recent success where the players were also still enthusiastically behind the guy. I literally cannot think of another example. And I think that’s the reason we see what we see today.

It’s a mess. This season is wasted. Whatever we were hoping to achieve with Frank, whatever long term foundations he was laying. It simply was not worth wasting this whole season. This performance is a disgrace with the season on the line.
I feel exactly the same way. It is depressing watching this!

It's not the misplaced passes that's concerning, it's the fact there isn't a decent pass on a lot of the time because of the lack of movement that is the cause half the time.

Villa are a very well coached team so don't want to be too critical of Frank, but this all feels like it's slipping away from him right now. Next to no one will say with any real confidence we will beat West Ham next week, that's how low we have sunk....

I think the misplaced passes are also concerning. Because to play Frank’s system well we need to play out with quality in order to launch counters. And we just don’t.

And I’m not blaming Frank for that. Countering is a perfectly reasonable tactic in theory. And I’m sure the players are I’m sure not intending to get booed at home. But the situation just isn’t working, whatever the reason is. There’s no quality, no confidence, and they are just basic ingredients needed to win a top level match.

What price Ryan Mason???

If so, Harry Redknapp will be sat by the phone Monday morning

My GHod - that’s what ENIC have reduced us to. 😂

I've been doing that, re read the book too

I’m going to start War and Peace. Right now.

Booing our own players again. Danso after one mistake.

Yeh we have been brick but this brick really annoys me.

It’s pathetic, as is about 50% of our fanbase.

Danny Murphy. Tottenham have quality players…..erm where are they then?

Almost spat my tea out when he said that.

On the bright side, at least Glasner showed today that he has everything he needs to manage us next.

I can’t see how he hasn’t lost the players. Not that they’ve downed tools because I think they’re all probably good pros. But if you’re getting booed and abused every week for doing what’s being asked my the manager, you’re not going to have much faith in him. This is an absolute brickshow. Not all Frank’s fault but he’ll pay the price before anyone else.

I've no problem with the season being a write off it it was leading to progress. However, there is no sign of any progress.

Maybe i'm misunderstanding what i'm seeing but I see willingness to attack, just that whenever we gain the ball in the final 3rd our lack of quality means the attacks amount to nothing much. That lack of quality in the final 3rd is the problem there. Then in terms of buildup, we are incapable, its very slow but its not a lack of willing, again its a quality thing, maybe a coaching thing but not a willingness. The players are up for it, we are just brick.

VDV rarely gets called out for actually being a pretty brick defender.

You think we would be seeing anything differet without the change? The change hasn't worked but this is exactly what I was expecting without the change.

Honestly mate I do think we’d be seeing something different with Ange. I’m not saying we’d win the league. I’m not saying we’d be back top 5. But even last season for the first half of the year we got plenty of good results and performances.

To be clear, I don’t blame Frank for this. I blame the situation overall. I’m sure the players aren’t intending to be this bad. I’m sure Frank isn’t trying to make us bad. But confidence and quality is nowhere to be found. It’s just gone. And the season is over today unless we come out and fight beyond all fight in the second half. It’s a disgrace to waste a season like this, but that’s what we’ve done. A total mess.

I just don’t think the players are any good. Do you see a future Rose, Walker, Dele, Eriksen, Kane, Son on the pitch?

Otherwise it will be a miracle for any manager to get a tune out of these players, including Poch.
Did you see a future Berbatov, Bale, Modric, BAE, and a top right back when Poch first joined? If you did, then you should become a scout

The gap in midfield every game is what worries me most, every opposition player has 10 yards space to turn and pick a pass. Need 3 in midfield to counter it.

For the first goal he the first pass, he was stood between 4 players in a box, but allowed to receive the ball with no pressure.

It's not having 3 in midfield, it's the two DMs being easy to bypass and leaving players between them and the defence. There's always opponents in space between the defence and midfield.
